So basiclly most threads end with poeple saying that the movie is not "Transformers" enough.
That the designs are too "transtechy".

That Armada is the only way to go!

I'd like to hear what you all think IS Transformers in ur heads! No flaming on what others think, but find out what we all think and what we differ in.

    I'll go first.

Before the movie I was the G1 Guru. G1 was the everything what should be measured to. And I dont think I can be blamed for it sice its the source material. It started it all with the G1 cartoon.

However what I found on boards and fandom is that through the years, all series cartoons and comics alike must have references to the G1 era. It doesnt matter where you look, theres always truck prime a matrix and a Megatron. This got bored, and fandom still must have these references.

The movie, although i wanted it to be G1 badly, was a breath of fresh air to me. Different designs, new robots and a new take.

Now seeing the Alternaty Prime in Silver, i think perhaps its best that Transformers take a different route. No Optimus, Red trucks and Megatrons.

Perhaps keep some point like Cybertron, ongoing war and fight on earth. But introduce new characters only, and maybe in a series or 2, introduce some friendly faces we know.

    Rant on my friends!

If it's a robot and it transforms into stuff, that's good for me.

Robot. Transforms. Autobots & Decepticons or equivalent.

These are the boxes they need to tick for me.

Everything Hasbro says is a Transformer. Their property, their call.

Actually, it all started with the G1 toys. The cartoon was just an advert for 'em. :p

On the whole, cool robots that transform, cool characters, cool stories. These are my demands.

They did kill Prime off in the first movie. I don't know if they can do it again without the fans complaining.

I just threw up a little.

For me, it's about the underlying themes. Two warring factions of robots with the ability to alter form. The same archtypal characters and stories of good vs evil.

I would liken it to the James Bond series. The actors change, the dilemnas change, but in the end it has to keep the "feel" of the franchise.

If James Bond can change have a four different accents and three different hair colors, than the leader of the autobots can have flames or lips or turn into a giant metal gorilla.

Anything that transforms from kick-ass robot to vehicle is awesome in my book. I loved some figures from G1, G2, Beast Wars, RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, Animated, the Movie, and so on and so forth. Only series I never got into was Beast Machines... but the fact remains that giant robots fighting and sleek vehicles rawk hard.

This goes into the "Beauty is in the eye ......." status. In every line there are figures that are breathtaking. Then there are those who BLOW CHUNKS. I love the G1 toon but the figures .... not so much. There are those think G1 was God's gift to toy making. It is a matter of taste is all

If Ravage isn't bigger than an elephant, it isn't real Transformers.

Lord knows I don't like everything in the world of Transformers toys and media, but whenever someone throws out things like "it doesn't look like a REAL Transformer", "T.I.N.O.", and of course the "True fan" term, the needle on my stupidmeter sweeps up.
