Me, too. They need to stop bringing people back in general, but they really need to stop doing it with X-characters. If someone dies, let them be dead and introduce new characters. The X-books are tailor-made for that anyway.

Oh, look... More Phoenix force incoming because it's not played to death. Not at all.

I'm calling it, Jason Aaron is going back to X-Men soon. Is he still writing Star Wars? Maybe he'll leave that to Kieron Gillen and jump to Blue or Gold.

I think it's been rumored that he's moving to Avengers. Gillen will be taking over Star Wars.

This is Marvel tying up to the Fox movies. They know a Dark Phoenix movie is coming so they're milking it. It's the same with Old Man Logan, and I would think it's the reason they are trying to keep the O5 around because the Fox movies have them as the younger characters. Personally they really should get rid of them at this point because no new fan is going to be able to wade through all the complicated crap they've introduced to the X-Men in recent years, and that's saying something because the X-Men have had a rep already of being complicated since the 90s.

lol THAT'S them tying up to the movies?!! I sound like an idiot here (what's new) but it never even occurred to me there was any connection between the Logan movie and Marvel bringing back an old Logan in the comics. They were so drastically different. The movie was so good, and the comics are such complete shit, that I never for even one second connected the two.

Hm. Still, Thor has been peppered with new bits of information on the Phoenix Force, so it can't be a coincidence that Jean is coming back in time for things to come to a head over there.

Yep but given how Marvel's just screwing with the X-Men plus putting Phoenix on the Avengers BC roster, wouldnt be surprised if they put Phoenix on Avengers.

They did bring him back pretty early - really before any details about Logan came out so yeah not surprised how different it came out - but I know plenty of people who made the same call because really what other reason would they have to bring Old Man Logan at all to the MU? As for the books while I don't read them, people seem to be saying good things about the book, especially the earlier run by Lemire if I'm not mistaken.

Got around to reading some of those Generations one-shots, and they were generally pretty fun, they largely keep the tone of it's respective ongoing, so even with the classic character returning to role it's basically an extra issue of the current books, but it's done well, and some of them carry a lot of emotion.
At the very least, if you enjoy the current Wolverine run, it's Generation book is definitely worth a pick-up.

    For Marvel, yes. It's impossible.

They also treat their readers like a bunch of idiots who will believe in everything. Like it was all planned from the beginning.

    Suuure.

Sadly, these days Marvel's ongoing contempt for their own fanbase is nothing surprising.
