The air conditioner at work is set far too high.

And there is nothing I can do about it.

I am freezing and I have a serious case of THO.

I can't for the life of me figure out why they have it turned up so high.

Those cold hearted bastards. Wear a giant coat, a toboggin, mittens and some snowpants at work. Maybe they'll take the hint.
I still have a snowball in the freezer from last winter's snow in case you want to hit someone in the face with it.

Wouldn't it be set too low? I opened the thread expecting to read about someone sweltering in oppressive heat!

I hate that at my office too - where the cold just goes to the bone and you have to walk out into Florida summer weather just to thaw out.

Ok, too low - but it's blowing cold air really hard on my freshly shaved head.

I had to go outside for a smoke earlier just to warm up.

I've been digging the weather here. Mid-'70s, with a light breeze. But being this nice this early translates to high '90s in May, combined with humidity above 100, which I had thought was impossible.

Anyways, I'm sitting on my ass at home, where I can set the AC to whatever I want.

Ha, not true. I have a digital thermometer that I keep in my office so I know exactly what the temp is everyday.

I work in a courthouse and during the winter they have the furnace going full blast so I have to have my window open, otherwise it will get up to 90+. The average when I come in in the morning and I have kept my window open is 82.5 (even though it gets down to the single digits, I still have to keep my window open).

We get the opposite during the summer. I am directly next to the industrial A/C, so it pumps full force right into my office. The lowest I have ever seen in my office is 56.8 in the morning. This was even going on last summer when we had actual temps of 115. That really messes you up, going from 60s to 110+ in a few steps.

When I came in this morning it was 62.3. I right now am wearing my coat and have a heater going. It is currently up to 70.2 in my office and I think 70 outside as well, but if I open the window and turn the heater off, I will freeze to death.

It is generally the worst when the weather is changing b/c they will keep the heat on when it is hot outside in Nov and keep the A/C on when it is cold in April. It is a joke. All they would have to do is turn both off and it would be perfect. Instead they waste electricity and I am really uncomfortable.

The A/C at my work is the eternal struggle. The sales people and I have to were shirts and ties. The "secretary" hardly wears anything. So she complains all the time it's too cold while we sweat to death. I keep telling her "wear some damn clothes slot!"

Last year the owner and I got into a fight about it. It was 110 outside, me and one guy were covering the whole lot, running in and out all day. He shows up and goes off about how low we had the a/c. We got into an actually shouting match about how we have to wear ties, he called me fat, I almost quit. Turned out okay. Ties came off until the temp dropped in October.

    Beefing with the boss FTW!!!

I can't believe nobody's asked the obvious question yet.

Be grateful you have AC this early in the hot yet to come. I have to deal with Mother Nature, and she had the sun beating down on us today. Makes you move real slow.

I am the sole male in the thermostat "zone" in the basement at work. I am also the one nearest the basement door. The basement is generally around the 60 degree mark.

    I freeze year round.
