One thing I've been wondering is how Janusz Kaminski is working on doing lighting for the shots in TinTin. He's been Spielberg's Cinematographer since Schindler, and the palette he works with is generally muted sometimes, with the lighting somewhat neutral.

Who else grew up with the HBO Cartoon? it was America's introduction to TinTin.

There is still some notions of uncanny valleyness. Even though their proportions are that of a cartoon, the textures and lighting of the characters and backgrounds are still very realistic looking. Did you ever see that "HD Mario" pic?
