which film do you think should win the academy award for best visual effects? I'm very undecided about this question and am not sure which to vote for.

Is this about should or will? Because when it comes to oscars they are two completely seperate things. Most likely winner tree of life or hugo(maybe harry potter or maybe even apes upset) who should as a soso of a flick it is TF3 deserves it.

DOTM and Planet Of The Apes had the best visuals of 2011, but as to which one deserves the Oscar, my personal pick is DOTM.

I'd say DOTM. While there are quite a few films on that list that I thought had really good special effects (ROTPOTA, Captain America, etc) I think Transformers was good enough to where I almost forgot they were special effects.

DOTM was a visual feast, but the first TF movie lost out to talking polar bears so I won't get my hopes up.

^This. Though I'm not even close to being a Bayformer fan. I did like the first movie and was pissed that the Golden Compass beated them in the Visual effect cateogory. It's because of that I decided to never watch the Golden Compass.

Personally I don't care who wins.

DotM had the best visuals and should win the Oscar, but I don't think it will. I could definitely see Harry Potter 8 win, more as an Oscar for the whole series.

The Live-action tf franchise needs to acquire an Oscar, those movies are among the greatest accomplishments in the history of CGI.

Transformers has been robbed of the VFX award twice already, DOTM deserves it more than anything.

Transformers: DOTM. If our robots don't win this time, I'll be extreamly pissed. I'm still pissed the first one lost to the effing Golden Compass and that the second one was not even nominated.

    Fingers crossed!

My vote goes to Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I was very impressed by the apes in that movie, and Caesar was almost unbelievable.

I would of course be quite happy if Transformers won.

I would have at least mentioned Planet of the Apes, but while the apes acted amazing there were too many times I was just distracted by how obviously CGI they were.

this is hard, I have a different vote for
    Who I want to win (because I'm a fan) : Transformers:D OTM
Who I think should win (most deserving) : Hugo or Planet of the Apes
Who I think will win (because it's mostly politics anyways) : Harry Potter 8

Same here. It's not that I love the Transformers less, but I liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes a little more.
