I like most of them, hate a few. The WW Prime, Grimlock and Prowl are nice because I doubt we'll ever get them again. Rodimus and Menasor really work for me. I liked the idea of Stormbringer Jetfire, and tape deck Soundwave, all in one no Prime add-on Ultra Magnus but they all came out okay. Loved Scourge at the time, now feels dated. The Megatrons were shit.
In your pictures you have Soundwave with a little Laserbeak on his shoulder. Am I being stupid? I really don't remember my Titanium having a LB and I can't see how I would have missed that?
Missed out on most of the line, the only one I regret that for is the Fallen. Do have RiD Prime though, and I was very pleased that they went right for the super mode robot. That mold's only real flaws are the hollow boots and knobbly vehicle sections.
The little Lazerbeak that came with Soundwave was the best part about that whole release. Mine hangs out with ML Soundwave.
So either I'm a massive idiot and I've forgotten I have him, or I lost mine in the packaging, which would also make me a fucking idiot. Curious, something to check next time I visit my toys.
Being that the War Within is my favorite sub-series and easily my favorite design aesthetic, I was all over the WW Titaniums. I absolutely loved the Seeker, Prime & Megatron molds. Also have a lot of appreciation for the G1 Rodimus & Magnus molds since they're the only ones in existence that keep those characters as singular bots without any trailer or add-on "armor". Thought the Scourge design was pretty sweet too, albeit overly simplistic.
I always wanted Optimus, but then came WFC Prime and I like him much more. I'd be maybe interested in Grimlock, but never saw him. I was interested in Rodimus as well, but then saw pictures of him having a hollow back and that killed him for me.
he's actually a really great design but he is loose. As good of a design as WFC is, I think if the Titanium one had been done properly it would totally beat it out. The RID one is awesome though
Other than his TINY spoiler/wings in robot mode, it's really a nice figure, I can't say as I've ever noticed or been bothered by the back. I just wish he had standard sized hand holes, I've got one of the 3rd party weapon packs that came with a NICE Roddy-Rifle, but I can't give it to him because of his mini-hands. Why must all Rodimi have mini hands??? D/L
Titanium was another one of those lines that, by the time it hit its stride, was doomed. Some of the early figures (Megatron and Soundwave, I'm looking at you) were just awful, but then the later stuff (Mostly previously mentioned, but Grimlock, Prowl, Cheetor, etc.) was fantastic.
What about the Fallen. He's the only really good Fallen figure we have right now. I have him infront of my Energon Unicron.
If you're talking screen-accuracy, YES hands-down. Play-value wise, I'll take Nightslash Cheets any day of the week. Most of his variants all have pretty striking decos too. D/L
Titanium is meant for older collectors and used as display pieces as opposed to hands-on toys. If you consider them statues, then its fine, otherwise you are expecting too much. Also consider Titanium lines in other series like Star Wars, that were not considered to be articulated action figures and ships but just display models. Transformers fans have very high standards. If it was more popular we could have seen Titanium 6" Cosmos and Arcee in production. It just was not very profitable for Hasbro, for better or for worse. My favorites are the seekers. It also brought G1 characters with modern articulatioan:
I stopped collecting them around the 3/4th wave. Currently I have WW Optimus Prime, WW Megatron, WW Fallen, WW Jetfire, and WW Thundercracker on display. Soundwave, Optimal Optimus, and Scourge are put away at the moment. Could not find a decent pose for any except Soundwave. Even then it was to bothersome to have him stay standing.
