    1. Halloween
    2. Halloween...again...It's my favorite horror.
    3. Nightmare on Elm Street
    4. Friday the 13th part 4
    5. Nightmare on Elm Street (Remake, which was very good IMO. Better than all of the sequels)
    6. The Blair Witch Project
    7. Pirahna
    8.Poltergeist.
    9. Friday the 13th (Remake)

I went to Wal-Mart the other day because they have three huge bins of lots of different horror movies I don't have, all for $5 each. My dad and I got...
    Halloween 2 (Original)
Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and 3 (I don't like these movies, I only got them because I needed more NOES in my horror shelf)
    Friday the 13th part 5
    The Exorcist
    Silence of the Lambs
    Childs Play
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (The original, the remake, and the remake prequel)
    The Fly
    The Thing
The Wolfman (The original black and white)
    Frankenstein
    Dracula
    Scream
    American Werewolf in London

Not to mention I still have Jaws, Alien, Predator, F13 (1,2,3,4,6,7,), Freddy Vs Jason, the Halloween Remake, the Friday the 13th Remake, and IT to watch. I still want to find and get Candyman. I'm not a huge fan of Hellraiser, so I can easily check that off my list. But if I can't find the Shining in stores this month I will be sad.

So yes...I am taking 31 days of horror very seriously. :D

Correct me if you already saw it, but would the original "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" suit your needs? Same goes for a series of movies about a killer genie (the name escapes me at the moment).

Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The original. I like the remake for it's grittiness and the action/horror theme it has, but the original is far more disturbing and a horror classic.

Friday the 13th. If you're okay with watching the original series, I'd recommend the first through fourth. If you don't really have time for that, check out the remake. That's a good one too, and it pretty much condenses the first four into one film which is nice. The best thing about the remake is Derek Mears' Jason Voorhees. Second only to Kane Hodder from part 7, and even then it's a close call.

Jaws. One of the biggest horror classics, kind of necessary.

Would that be Wishmaster? If so I very much enjoyed the first one but never bothered about the others. The first felt self contained enough to not need a sequel other than for a cash grab.

Yes, that's the one, saw a couple of bits only though, one where he murdered the heroine's friend and was pretending to be her, and one where he twisted her wish to know more about him and stuck her inside his 'lamp' for a few moments.

That needs to be a horror rule.

Never make a wish with any mystical creature.

I saw the edited version of Silent Hill on FX Monday.

I'm certainly in the mood this month, but I'm gonna have to up the ante *looks at thread* :lol

Awesome! I did this a couple of years ago after I got laid off. If I remember correctly, I watched about 45 horror movie dvds in 31 days. The film didn't necessarily need to be a horror film, as long as it was in the spirit of Halloween. I intertwined my viewings of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street franchises so that they would culminate with Freddy vs. Jason. This was a lot of fun, but I was quite burned out by the end of the month.

    1) Halloween
    2) Halloween II
    3) Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
    4) Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
    5) Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers
    6) Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later
    7) Halloween Resurrection
    8) Halloween (2007)
    9) Friday the 13th
    10) Friday the 13th, Part 2
    11) Friday the 13th, Part 3
    12) Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
    13) Friday the 13th, Part V: A New Beginning
    14) Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives
    15) Friday the 13th, Part VII: The New Blood
    16) Friday the 13th, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
    17) Jason Goes To Hell
    18) Jason X
    19) A Nightmare on Elm Street
    20) A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge
    21) A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
    22) A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
    23) A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
    24) Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
    25) Wes Craven's New Nightmare
    26) Freddy vs. Jason
    27) Scream
    28) Scream 2
    29) Scream 3
    30) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    31) Poltergeist
    32) Night of the Living Dead
    33) The Crow
    34) Grindhouse: Planet Terror
    35) Grindhouse: Death Proof
    36) The Lost Boys
    37) Shaun of the Dead
    38) Bubba Ho-Tep
    39) Bram Stoker's Dracula
    40) From Dusk Till Dawn
    41) The Evil Dead
    42) Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn
    43) Army of Darkness
    44) Slither
    45) OMG Zombies!! :(  (my friend's short film)
