After a solid year of tinkering with scrap plastic, most of which involved burning and cutting my fingers, it's finally here. Presenting the one-and-only JUNKION FREIGHTER (made from junk)!

This thing was scratch-built from plastic scrap and old toys I either salvaged or found in the Thrift Shop. Total cost in parts: $37. The clothes hamper I used as the core was the most expensive single part at $17. No metal fasteners were used in this project. The entire thing is held together by plastic welds (heat gun and soldering iron) and adhesives (hot glue gun, superglue, and epoxy). I eventually had to stop adding things and just call it done, because there is no reasonable limit to how much detail you can add to such a big playset. I did add a LOT of 5mm ports so that components and weapons can be added over time for specific modifications.

The entire WIP is captured in a thread here.

    Without further ado, the pictures:

Great work!! You were able to write a summary and post pictures. So that means you didn't suffer any permanent damage from inhaling all those toxic fumes from all that glue and burning plastic. Anyway, you might as well get started on a Decepticon vessel. Because you'll turn old and gray waiting for one of US to do it!! ;)

I'm very impressed! Why with this level of ingenuity and craftsmanship, I'd think you were a Junkion yourself!

Man........this is CRAZY awesome!!! :rock  Kinda reminds me of what a detachable emergency escape-pod would look like for the Autobot Ark if it had one. I truly didn't realize the scale of this thing til I glanced-over at the WIP-thread!

Very professional! That is amazing. The detail and workmanship are about the best I've seen here on TFW.

Thanks for all the comments! You know how it is when you make something; you mostly see the flaws because you know what it could have been. This was my first time trying plastic welding, so my mistakes are camouflaged as "battle damage" or the result of using scrapped components.

Thanks, I don't have a Unicron but I have a Cybertron Primus. I can take a photo with that but it will look a little silly! He can fit in the bay, standing upright. I also didn't take any photos with the doors open so I will do that, too. I think the properly scaled Unicron to this ship would be about the size of a very large wall shelf system or maybe a storage shed.

That is one of my back burner projects, actually, but I don't know where I'l keep it. This one is the size of a piece of furniture. The Deception ship would have to be smaller. The Autobot City project will be done long before the Deception ship!

Thanks, I've been called much worse!

I'll see what I can do.

Thanks! Your work has actually inspired me to work with larger scale stuff. I'm a big fan of your giant combiners.

Thanks, I can't say I really deserve that one but I appreciate the support. There are some really amazing artists on this site. I know a lot of tricks and methods, but in terms of precision and design, I think I'm pretty basic.
