Congratulations! You have FAILED at the internets!

    :p

Heard about it, not a Trek fan, so only held a slightly passing interest.

I'm a fan, and I've heard of it. It's the Christie's auction that is even getting coverage on the History channel or at least on the website isn't it? I haven't looked at it simply because I'm sure almost everything is going to be way more expensive than I could even consider bidding on so I might as well not bother.

That made me LOL. Nice work. :D

I looked at some of these on Christies.com a few days ago and...damn. Maybe, many years from now, when I'm financially well off, MAYBE I'll try and buy one of those LCARS consoles. But yeesh. I could probably make one for cheaper.

    That shit's EXPENSIVE.

HAVE to hold back nerdjerk...MUST hold back nerdjerk...

    ACH! I CAN'T! NERDJERK HO!

Actually, the original original Enterprise bridge was deconstructed years back when NBC canned the '60s Star Trek series. Not much of that original bridge prop (or much of the Enterprise sets) survived. However, when The Next Generation came around, many of the TNG-era sets were preserved during the 18(?)-year run of TNG, Deep Space Nine and Voyager, because they could be used as other Starships with just a little light change and redressing.

Now, they DID construct a small corner of the original Enterprise bridge for the TNG episode "Relics," where Scotty drops by the Enterprise-D and gets drunk on the holodeck recreation of his old bridge, but I have no clue as to whether or not they auctioned that off. They could have. As a matter of fact, I'm assuming that if they DID, it was probably in a previous Christie's Trek auction.
