Figured I'd start a thread where members can make film recommendations while engaging in some intelligent discussion.

    Cutting to the chase...

I highly recommend Drive (hits DVD and BR this Tuesday) starring Ryan Gosling. Also, a few indie gems I found on Netflix that are available for instant stream: Uncertainty (starring Joseph Gordon Levitt), The Winning Season, and Keith.

Fight Club, always a good movie even if it is from 99.

    Thanks, forum cop.

To be honest, I didn't know there was a movies and TV forum. I pretty much thought GD was the catch-all spot for everything unrelated to TF.

The Big Lebowski. It's another old one, but it's awesome.

Coen Bros. films are almost always solid pieces of work.

A middle-aged Jewish guy that's basically a pussy. There's more to it, obviously. I just didn't want to give away anything since it's one of those films that has to be viewed in person rather than explained. Typical Coen Bros. style humor.

Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgement Day - one of the best action films period.

I'll agree with that. The third one was complete shit, but the fourth one wasn't too bad.

I disagree. The 3rd film is a decent action film that had some decent moments but the 4th film is dull and boring.
