Hooray for Duke and their matador defense! Ole! Don't mind me, from here on in I'll just try to join in some general college hoops talk, and occasionally bring up my modified-Obama bracket from my office pool (Final Four: UNC, UConn, Florida, with Kansas winning it all). Not even sure how far down the crapper I've fallen amongst you guys.
Teams I have left: Ohio State, UNC, and UConn. Final Four is gone except for Ohio State. Easily my worst year since I even heard of the tournament.
I could've used OSU to advance one more round at least in all my brackets. >:0 Meanwhile, the VCU/FSU game is insane.
Despite the earlier blowouts, there were some crazy-ass games last night. Even though I didn't care about the outcome, VCU-FSU was all sorts of awesome. The UK-OSU game was also nuts. Watched all the action from a bar and the place was totally rockin' non-stop! I pretty much OD'd on hoops action last night. *I know there's an NBA thread, but I also wanted to mention the fantastic finish to the Spurs-Blazers (despite the fact I was rooting for the Spurs) we watched on one of the side tvs. I love this game! Please ignore my pathetic Raptors getting humiliated @ GS 138-100, after giving up 84 points in the first half!
Butler made the final 4 again! not good for me as I had Florida making the final 4. I am done in the West and southeast regions all up to the last 2 as to whether or not I hang on and win this thing!
^yeah, I needed Gators in the F4 to pick up some points. So many bad decisions in the final minutes & ot that let Butler back in it/win the game
If the rest of my bracket is perfect i might get back into 1st place otherwise i think top 5 is the best i could hope for.
How about VCU and Butler in the Final Four. That's amazing!!!! I wish I could root for both to play in the National Championship Game.
<- me in my office pool I was so damn confident too, I had the top spot amongst almost 400 entries with the grand prize of $4900. Serves me right for thinking I had the tourney in the bag and scoping out listings for Fort Max on ebay this morning.
What kills me about VCU is that my school, Old Dominion, whipped their ass twice in the past month (both @ VCU!!!), which includes the conference championship right before the tournament started. It's painful watching this. And ODU lost in the last second to Butler, another Final Four team. Ugh...
