    League's up.

Returning managers were sent an automatic email.

If you didn't get the email please PM me.

League is set at 16 teams right now which is the same as the previous season. If there are managers that don't want to participate we can either cut down the number of teams or find replacements.

Live draft is set at Sun Aug 14 2:00pm EDT

Sorry I won't be playing this year, it's been piles of fun the last few years. I've just got so much stuff going on with the Fire Station I won't have the time I need to run a great team, and I won't have a placeholding, deadwood team.

Best of luck to all, and hopefully I'll be able to get back in next year!!!

Thanks for the heads up and best of luck at the fire station!

With that, one spot opens up for the league.

    Please PM me if interested.

lol *shrugs* the guy who founded it is still in our league, I guess? I dunno, just ran with it, as all I did was take over for him, then moved it from yahoo!'s website... Ren here made another Yahoo! league almost immediately afterword, as he preferred it there (which works out great, as it's a much larger league, so not only are more people getting to participate, but there's more flavor to choose from).

Maybe if I try to participate again I may actually pay more attention to football this year.

So we have one team not returning but was replaced with new team. I haven't heard from three others. Basically it's going to come down to 14 teams if one of the three I haven't heard from joins or 16 again if all three rejoin.

Clock's ticking on the three who haven't responded!

Going to give the three teams that haven't responded a couple more days to respond.

If they don't, there's one team in waiting who I'll add and then we'll lock the league at 14 teams.

Is someone going to set up a Pick'em League like last year? I'm already in two player leagues, but I'd be interested in joining Pick'em with you guys.

Oh wait, what? I didn't know there were two Leagues going. I've already got a Yahoo profile and everything.

If there isn't 16 Teams yet, I'd like in.

Alright so I think the final three teams aren't going to join if they haven't responded by now so I'm going to invite the last team in and cap it at 14 teams.

Also, I've been revisiting the defensive format for our league and I'm thinking that the 2 DB and 3 LB scheme is a little too restricting since it leaves out DL/DE/DT. I'm thinking about switching it to just five D spots and letting the managers decide on how they want to set up their defensive players.

We can go with a rigid system of X number of DB/DT/DE/LB/DL but then we have to decide how many we want for each position.

I actually like the five defensive slots as it would allow for a bit more creative managing in respect to the scoring system. Could be a fun experiment.

Yeah it definitely allows managers to do as they wish with their defense. I doubt managers would make themselves one dimensional by having 5 DBs or anything like that.

But what does worry me is that those who can't make the live draft for whatever reason (and there will be managers who can't, 100% guaranteed) will be stuck with Yahoo! drafting for them and they may end up with crap for defense as evidenced in previous seasons.

On the other hand, if they can't make the live draft then that's something they have to deal with on their own if they get shorthanded on defense.

the problem with that is that LBs are more consistent with their tackles than any other position. SUre peppers or asimougha will win you a game one week but could put up huge goose eggs the others. Im cool either way though. Also, my avatar on the yahoo page is a girl because I just used my wifes yahoo account lol
