As last year's runner up, I'd HOPE you'd return with a vengeance to beat Maximum Maximus. :lol

Mmm... I didn't know I'd have a target on my back this time. I am going to sign up and see if I can replicate last year's result. :)

hmmm different format than im used to on Fantasy football. the previous leagues I participated in , and its been years was defense as a whole rather than broken into positions.

Im going to think this over a bit, only have to maker adjustments weekly works better for my schedule. so there is a fair chance i'll join and stay joined this time.

The defensive players is a little odd, but you get used to it. It really makes you think about defense rather than just plugging in whatever team has a good matchup.

Yeah, I actually liked the Defensive set up. It takes awhile but you will get used to it. Brian Cushing won tons of games for me last year lol. Its sad when 1 Defensive player out plays your QB and RB (Eli and Turner)

How many of you guys need the ID and PW who were in the previous TFW leagues? We have 6 teams thus far.

I'll rejoin but not if there are 20 teams again. I think 12 is the limit for a good fantasy league, maybe 14.

That's about how I feel too. There were way too many teams last year. As the 3rd place team, i'd love to sign up.

Let me expand. One of the major positions is QB. When you have 20 teams, only half of them get a second qb for bye weeks. And that's not even touching when you have a bad qb. So right off the bat, you get in a hole. And that's only one position.

I have run into that problem myself and idid a bit oif checking and last timei played Fantasy football was when Jerome Bettis was still playing.

I am doing a bit of research into current players to seeif i feel comfortable in my knowledge of current players to be able to properly manage a team.

While I agree that 20 teams can get a little out of hand, part of what makes it fun by having more teams for me is that it makes things more challenging.

Having every team stocked full with marquee players in every position gets a little bland after a while.

This is just my thinking but a fantasy league that bans top players would be fun. What killed most people last year is the poor draft. Since practically nobody showed up, you were doomed. Last year I only got to stay for a couple rounds because the GF dragged me to her parents house but not his year. I'm putting it in her calendar as "LEAVE ME ALONE"

    :lolol

I think the ideal number of teams I'd like to have would be 14. Maybe even 16.

20 is definitely a "look for the dregs of the waiver pool" situation. :lol

Agreed. 20 teams is a bit much if only for the QB situation. Alternatively, if you're present at the draft and aware of the need, you can make accommodations for the bye week but it may have to be at the expense of a good skill player. It can be workable, but tougher if everyone shows up for the draft.

You mean like the TFW2005 baseball league? :)

I think there have been only 4 managers who have checked in during the past two weeks. That's surprising as it is a very low-commitment league (with weekly lineup changes) and because the season is still young while everyone is within striking distance for the playoffs. It also makes trading more difficult.

Haha. Yeah, I missed the draft last year and lucked into the last spot in the playoffs by working the waiver wire early. I will not miss it this year, but would love to see (at most) 16 teams. Last year, my bye week QB was Henne and I dreaded starting him, but this year he's definitely a sleeper.

Well that's the thing, with 14 teams, everyone gets 2 people per spot, a started and a backup. Yet not all 32 QBs in the league are that good. For every one good one, there are 4 mediocre ones.

Well, at least not all bye weeks are the same so some teams could employ the same QB, albeit mediocre, for their weeks in need. Perhaps if there is an excess of teams, the possible bench slots could be reduced to discourage having more than one QB on the roster at a time.

It is true, though, that the 20th and 21st picks become really important for the particular team who "wins" that right.

Since there is so much time prior to the draft, would any of you registered be interested in a mock draft this year? (That may be difficult to arrange, but this year seems interesting with the prospect of a lockout in '11.)
