Click here to check out all the pictures! Next up we have a gallery of Transformers Prime Sergeant Kup, from the recently released fifth wave of Transformers Prime Deluxe Class toys. Kup's an interesting one - he's a great toy at heart, a real action hero design with bulky legs and powerful arms (plus a nice big pair of cannons). He's just very, very obviously a green version of Ironhide. In any event that is not a knock against Kup. He is a very cool and rather poseable toy but like with Rumble he's got some limitations on the shoulders again - this time it's on how far you can meaningfully rotate the head before he's looking at his own shoulder pads. There's also a panel from the hood of the truck which sticks up awkwardly from the back of the robot. The arms and legs have a nice range of motion and like Rumble the feet are very well articulated letting you put Kup in a variety of stances. The weapons are pretty cool too - a pair of twin cannons, which can be hand-held or arm-mounted, or combined into a single hyper-bazooka class weapon. All in all he is a very enjoyable toy who manages to overcome his few flaws to deliver a solid and fun little robot. The one deal breaker is going to be if you want this in the reds and blacks of Ironhide - though right now the only way to do that would appear to be by going for the Arms Micron release next month. Thanks for the gallery. Any way you could add a shot of Kup's truck mode from the bottom? Overall he seems to have a similar transformation to the cyberverse version. Which i like.
Sure thing, it won't be right away, but I'll get one added. Is that something people would be interested in seeing more of in our galleries?
Why the HELL isn't he Ironhide? Anyway, in most of these shots he is unmodded right? I see how that hood piece is crazy-making from many angles, but you don't really see it from the front at least.
What on Earth is happening to TF designs? That's awful. Looks like some undersized knockoff. I am so upset with the direction they are heading into.
Man Hasbro needs to release Ironhide sometime later....that design is so flawless. Kup is really cool and somewhat works. I'll totally pick him up if only for the design and because I like Kup's character. Bazooka mode must be a homage to the TFTM Voyager Ironhide's guns. I dig it and it works for Kup since he's a wrecker.
Yes, all shots are unmodded. The hood pushes down flush with the windshield glass, at first it felt like it would pop off past a certain point but after a while it fit in all nice and snug.
It's so sad that Cyberverse pulled the design off better than the deluxe. I was actually looking forward to this figure, but this review (nice shots, btw) has me quite disappointed. The square torso, the oddly hollow arms, static wrists and that gawd-awful back kibble just kill it for me.
Wish this and the Ratchet figures were made as Voyagers... they'd look sooooo much better in that scale and complexity. Not to mention it'd have a bit more paint too... Still, he's a nice looking figure, and hope to find it soon. What could one repaint/retool this figure as though? I'm fond of Generations Kup, and have iGear Weapon Specialist as Ironhide... I wonder how the iGear Kup heads will fit on him... assuming it can be put on him.
But do you want clear translucent arms and a crappy mechtech weapon? Well yeah I would just for a Voyager Ratchet and Ironhide.
Thanks! I like to see them, especially when the figure isn't really out yet. When it's a video review you get the basic idea, but seeing the bottom in a picture says a lot more about the way the figure is made.
WOW looks like the Arms Micron figures before stickers are applied Atleast AM ironhide is coming and it cant have any less paint than this but atleast it will have stickers to help a little
he could make a nice 'CHUG' Brawn maybe? All you need is some orange paint. And he would actually sort of be in scale since he's like a head shorter than the generations Kup.
It's a nice figure, too bad he's so short. I think he'd be good to make a custom G1-style Gears out of
Wow, I didn't realize he was going to have such awful back kibble. It's making me question whether or not I even want the mold now and I'm not sure if I feel like keeping my BBTS preorder and end up paying $40 just for Rumble.
Much like with generations kup I'm not happy with what we're getting, but I'll probably buy this just because it's kup
