    congrats to you, your daughter, and your family, please tell her that everyone here at tfw2005 is proud of her. As a fine arts high school teacher I want to applaud you for allowing her to express herself creatively and not just pass it off as 'silly drawings'
    she is a very talented artist at only 12 so I can't wait to see what comes from her in the future

    wow cybertoast that is an AWESOME drawing, that looks like a first place entry to me not a second place. Thank you Superquad7 for recognizing cybertoast and putting it on here

    this reminds me of that episode of the simpsons, where homer enters the power plant contest designed for children, and some one goes "look simpson is in a contest for children!" and some one else goes "yea and he kicked their butts!"

    except this is a contest for adults... and she is a child, and she kicked the ADULT'S butts! :lol 

    congrats!

    and btw, i love that piece! it's extremely funny! :lol  so deserving!

    To be 100%, brutally honest? It's obvious why she won. I'm not saying that she's a bad artist, but I will say that if they're going to do things like this, then why not split the art contest's awards into adults and kids? Would be fairer and give both kids and adults a chance to let their work place.

    While that is part of the equation that was not the deciding factor according to the judges I talked to. The Originality of the subject and the little touches like the Mello Yello boxes and the paragraph that accompanied it were the main factors.
