I thought I'd share a few pictures of this pair with you as they aren't out at US retail yet (and I feel Power Core Combiners can always do with more love)

Heavytread with Groundspike - Power Core Combiners Autobots - TFW2005.COM

Skyhammer with Airlift - Power Core Combiners Decepticons - TFW2005.COM

They are fantastic toys. I know some of you are not crazy about the Power Core Combiners series, but if you get one toy from this line, make it Heavytread. He is an excellent little tank with a lot of personality and a decent Mini-Con.

If you get two, Skyhammer is a great choice for a second.

Both have excellent vehicle modes, and simple yet effective transformations that give them some nicely designed and very poseable robot modes. They work great as standalone toys - but as Power Core Combiners they get that whole extra dimension of fun, especially - as you can see in a couple of the images - you can fold up one arm and attach a drone arm for a bulked up "battle mode", if robots with huge oversized arms are your thing.

More so than anything else, these are insanely fun toys. Not overly fiddly, not overly complicated, just straightforward designs with enough twists and features to make them interesting while also being very poseable and being the kind of toy that begs to be picked up and played around with.

As and when you see these on the pegs guys, I recommend you give them a look, even if you have passed on Power Core Combiners until now. They are some of the best representatives of what the line can be, and are probably going to be "sleeper hit" toys in the line this year.

Heavytread looks like his torso should be rotated 180 degrees in combined mode. I don't have the figure and haven't seen many pics though. Is that the right way to combine him?

According to the instructions you are dead right. D'oh, that'll be something to fix later on.

See, this is what happens when you only skim over the instructions and miss the very obvious "turn torso round" step!

Not crazy about Skyhammer, but Heavytread looks awesome in all modes (LOVE the psuedo-radio pack on his back in combined mode). I'll certainly need to pick up Heavytread.

They look pretty great! But I'll wait for the valkyrie repaint for skyhammer ;)  Still need to buy the constructicons though I do like minicon interaction a ton!

Heavy Tread repurposed as Guzzle is a pretty cool idea. Might have to do that myself!

I like these two. Not really the combined modes, but I've liked most of the 2-packs so far as standalone Scouts.

A worthy trade-off! I only use instructions when dealing with third-party figures and rather expensive size-classes. One of the biggest draws to Transformers to me is discovering the new ways that has/tak comes up with to compact their figures into altmodes.

That tank is totally replacing Brawl in my Bruticus set. That blows that crappy energon repaint out of the water. Definite buy

Heavytread is great looking!! I've been on the fence about most of PCC stuff, but he will be the first one I will definitely pick up!

I usually don't like one aspect or another of the main figure of the PCC series but Heavytread is actually one I might get.

is it just me or would this make for a near perfect classics g1 combaticon brawl figure with a bit of custom work to incorporate a proper combiner limb port a better head and a paint job?

The tank gallery is win. I especially like the hybrid combination with the turret claw from the combaticons or protectobots sets.

And yeah the radio backpack in combined form is a ace touch; the barrel does look thin enough with these proportions to be a antenna.

Skyhammer may not be the best. But I like the goggles and the minicon.

Its miles better than darkstream and skyburst's mold.
