Obsidian's Lament set the standard for set design, and IMO is still the best one out there.

**** me.... I had to put the names on small pieces of paper and pick one from a bowl randomly for who to vote for >_<

Vote goes to major, that's one heck of a set design he's used for the majority of his comic
Best of luck to the rest though :)

This is a tough one but Starfire is who I'll be voting for. I had planned on nominating him in the first place but forgot to do so (thanks to the guy who did).

I had to go with Starfire as well, he has the biggest, most detailed sets I've seen, and they look great.

Mmmm, polystyrene and image editing… :D

I love these polls, seriously. They’re like an extra dose of Funnies, just without complete comic strips. Looking forward to seeing who’s going to win!

I agree. Thinkin’ that there may also end up being a large gap between the eventual leaders and everyone else.

Thanks to whoever nominated me. I don't necessarily put a lot of effort into my funnies sets, but Obsidian's Lament was a different story. I was trying to recreate a whole technorganic world that vaguely resembled what we saw in the final episode of Beast Machines, and that took some set building and lots of Photoshop work. So thanks for noticing. :thumb

I think everyone's done good work here, but Autobus Prime and Zherbus really jump out at me. But they all look really good.

Thanks to those who nominated my comic for this. Most of the credit for the sets of “Kweh?” should, in my opinion, go to whoever designed the interesting polystyrene chunks with convenient holes and door shapes in. I mean, really. You can base entire strips off of getting figures stuck in the door-looking apertures, that’s how awesome they are. You can find flat bits, and square bits, and strange rectangular stuff that won’t fit anywhere but can make damn good seats if you snap them up and stack the bits on top of each other!

*Thirty-five minutes of excited polystyrene evangelism later.*

Wait, what was the question again?

I love all of the entries. I know the amount of work I have done on The Classics War, but I am so envious of the elaborate sets built but all of the other entries.

I had to put one down for Starfire MK2. Yes, his base sets do consist of those particular (and awesomely made) base panels. But he uses so MANY of them. He makes the sets look like they stretch on forever and are part of something vast! And there are so many in one setting that he enables himself to take shots from any angle he wants. It doesn't feel like the characters are all stuck in a box--they are in an ACTUAL base, and Starfire is just taking the shots as they move around in it.

Plus all the little touches, such as random equipment all around, add that perfect final component to everything. :)

Zherbus narrowly ended up getting my vote. He's able to do so much with his shots, since he uses the backgrounds to convey emotional subtext at times. Plus, they are are LOT of work to do! I've only done two digital sets (neither are nominated), and I don't want to do any more! But all the others are so good! No-body dresses a set like Autobus Prime, and I'm enjoying what Purdue makes as well.

Between the sweet base shots and the awesome outdoor scenes, Starfire gets my vote!
