Only FoC toy I'm interested in, mainly riding on the coat tails if my love for the character. The more I see of it with close ups and different angles, the design isn't that impressive though. And like the WfC toys it doesn't really fit in with any specific part of my collection. But again, it's a buy. Probably.

 

Don't forget that this mold will be re-purposed into the Prime line at the end of the year, filling multiple gaps in people's collection

Wonder if they'll just pull another Voyager out of their hats next year like they're doing with Soundwave.

The main issue that I have with the Classics/Generations figures is their inaccuracy in scale. I hate having the fact that deluxe Sideswipe, Prowl or Perceptor towers over Starscream, Soundwave and Shockwave.

Yeah, yeah Shockwave is a scientist but he's still one of the few real threats to Megatron's command due to being a powerhouse as well.

I really can't stand that ALT mode. The jet-ish looking vehicle modes are started to bore me. The robot mode is to die for though.

 

I so want to line up my United toys like this!! Great FoC galleries you have been sharing with us Sol   I can't wait to have Shockwave.

Its a cybertonian jet. Looks like he could almost pass as the jet vehicon commander

 

You guys do realize he's the same height as deluxe WFC Soundwave.

 

Doesn't look that way to me, but might just be the angle. Looks like it's at least a head shorter.

 

I want to love this so much, and will probably get it, but I still think his legs (and arms, to an extent) are too thin. I'm sure it'll grow on me once I have him in hand, though.

 

Shockwave is the only one that Im getting.

 

According to the comparison pics I saw he's maybe half a centimeter shorter.

 

Nice gallery and a decent figure, I guess. I'll probably pick one up if I see it at retail, but I'm not going out of my way hunting for it or ordering online; I even cancelled the Shockwave/Jazz/Prime preorder I had with BBTS. I just can't get excited about the FoC figures.

 

Shockwave is an amazing figure. He has a VERY satisfying transformation and looks great in robot mode and his Cybertronian thingymajig. It would have been better if we a little taller but he is ok.

Optimus Prime's height is the only REAL disappointment for me in Wave One.

 

I guess Shocky and Jazz will be the only ones I'm getting from this line... Optimus would be so much better as a voyager. And we still need Grimlock.

 

According to the back of the packaging he's some kind of mobile artillery platform, which to my mind makes sense - Shockwave would let others do the fighting while he flies over the battlefield and nukes them from orbit.

Nice way of referencing the old spacegun mode in there, to be honest. Robot mode is the main event, and it looks really nice - plus other than the wings on the back, there aren't any obvious alternate mode cues on him.

Yeah, Soundwave is a tiny bit taller but not so much that they don't look good together. Megatron on the other hand towers over him, but then didn't everyone always want Megatron to tower over his men?
