A Botcon Dreadwind just ended on ebay for $177. They were going for around $80 before Darkwind was announced.

They kept Darkwind's bio the same as G1 Darkwing but why did they have to change his name?

I love how they took G1 Darkwing's tech specs & expanded on them for this release. That bio describes me 100%, they hit the bullseye. If they were going to make me into a transformer, this is it! I LOVE this guy!

Good, was looking forward to these two. Glad to see Countdown getting a well-deserved upgrade and I think DarkWIND is kinda funny. :D

Are you kidding me? Yeah, last I checked, they were going for around 80 to 100 dollars. Dammit. FINE, I don't need stupid old Dreadwind anyway.

Darkwind: Hell yeah I'm buying! G1 Silverbolt NEVER should not be a bot that can't combine, but his crappy mold is great for Darkwind! Plus it's a con!

Countdown: Those are some high stats. He needs a blackwash, though, so bought for me as well:tongue:

Not often a bio comes with a grammatical error. Shouldn't that be "...from ONE end of the galaxy to the other..."?

In the meantime, I paid $11 for Silverbolt the first time around (thanks, HTS Christmas special) and really don't like the simplistic transformation- feels more like a Big Lots Bot. While it's a decent paint job, it's not enough for me to buy this mold again.

As for buying a figure for the bio...that's what convinced me to buy the Target Nemesis Prime (mastodon) after I'd decided I didn't like beast toys. That started a slippery slope, though, as I now have two shelves of beasts. Doh!

I'd rather not be denied a character just because they were unwilling to replicate the original gimmick the character had back in G1 (and there were a lot of gimmicks).

Combiners are an expensive investment for Hasbro these days; the last time we got a new G1 style combiner was in Energon and even then it was two basic molds, both repainted, and a deluxe.

And Darkwind is a great looking toy. I was tempted by Silverbolt but passed to wait for Darkwind.

To me, that mold is all Darkwing. Silverbolt is just a repaint that traveled through time in order to be first :)

I love how Darkwind's bio basically says that emos do it wrong. :lol

Darkwind: knows how to handle bad days right. Mostly by making everybody else's day a lot worse.

I'm really looking forward to getting Darkwind, as I'm quite fond of the G1 toy, and it's an excellent redeco of Universe Silverbolt. Countdown...meh. I like the mold, but I'm not terribly impressed with this colour scheme and I'd rather save the money for ROTF.

Concerning Darkwind, though, did Hasbro intentionally mess up the names, or was it just a mistake? G1 character this figure is homaging = Darkwing, his partner in G1 = Dreadwind, G1 combined form = Dreadwing. I know we've since had a couple of "Dreadwing" figures come out (Energon), starting the mix-up of the names, but I'm surprised Hasbro didn't use the character's true G1 name for this release.

Foolish hasbrotoyshop! The Decepticons will harness your new energy technology and use it to build the ultimate weapon.

Their aware of the correct name (darkwing -copyright 1987). But to avoid a potential disney lawsuit (darkwing duck - copyright 1991) they went with darkwind. Which I think makes him sound cooler. like a ninja.

Because of Darkwing Duck. Third time it's been said in the thread. I hope he's not like Beetlejuice.

As to the PowrFuel, I noticed those since I yanked the batteries out of Onslaught. Pretty cool that they include the batteries, unless you collect MISB.

Cool, can't wait for these two. At this rate I will have these two BEFORE I ever find a damn inferno at retail.
