Alas, my "Ultimate Battle" DVD 2-Pack is in storage, so I can't do a comparison shot  

I might free them from their plastic prison tomorrow. Dragstrip and Overkill should be in next week.  

 

I was holding out hope that Prime would have the dark blue windows and shoulder insignia like the pics on the back of the box, but I guess not.

 

Prime's head sticking out of the truck cab is pretty lame. I mean they could have at least reversed the head or something, even geewun did a better job concealing the head...

 

Thanks for sharing the pixs Sol btw i noticed that the OP somehow looks similar to the THS-02 Convoy in vehicle mode (a rather unconvincing vehicle mode  ).

That Optimus Prime is ass, and what happened to the re-coloring we saw in the promo shots and on HTS??

I guess Prime would be okay, purely for MISB, but no one should ever transform him into that mess of a truck.

I like the looks of Megs a lot ....

 

There is no amount of special packaging and repainting of that OP mold that could possibly make it look anything better then horrible.

Honestly, the only interesting figure out of all 4 is Drag Strip. The other 3 are either crummy or mediocre.

 

The packaging is amazing

I can't tell by those pics but is the Prime painted all nice like on the package or is it exactly like the two pack that came out not too long ago?

 

Why did they have to finally come up with such awesome packaging and then ruin it with these figures?

 

I'd say this about the Prime, but none of the others. This Megatron toy is one of my favorites.

Heh heh, I still find myself really wanting the box for Prime  

 

I truly don't understand the logic of having designed and released this particular Optimus Prime mold to begin with: It is FAIL in so many ways.

 

I don't like the blue gun for Optimus so I'll keep my Classics version and just replace my old Megatron with this one.

Along with everyone else, I do love the box design. And it's very reminiscent of the TRU Commemorative Editions of 2001 and also the TFC Takara Book Reissues. I'm a sucker for such packaging because they are PERFECT for display  

 

I'm in Singapore....w/c Toys R' Us did you find these in? and for how much?

 

looks like they did get megatron right the colors rock.. really does look better than prime, so sad... the packaging is wicked though..

 

Good stuff, I like it. I just wish I had more money.
