Here's another one. I managed to dig him up from my pile of junk and gave him a makeover. My usual technique, nothing great.

I really like your drybrushing style. It has great depth and doesn't look like it's just drowned out in silver. Looks like real metal with all the scratches and stuff. If you don't mind, can you share what colors you use, and what order you use them in?

Great work. With these Protoform Prime customs showing up, I'm tempted to get one myself to repaint. I should've gotten some when they were out here on sale for around $6 each. :lolol

It's a fine paint job for sure. I thought about customizing one myself but I am just not sure what to do to make one interesting and at the same time not look odd in one of the modes.

It's better than the one I just did! Especially the head! How did you do the eyes on yours?

Thanks, mampy. Appreciate your comments and feedback :thumb

    Here are my steps:-
    1) Run it over with mixture of Mr. Metal Color 213 + Mr Color 8 (Stainless and Gold respectively)
    2) Drybrush with Gold
    3) Some areas highlight via drybrush with Silver (Mr Color 7)
    4) Detail up some panels and hatches with silver again

Basically the key ingredient is Stainless (213) that accentuates the metal texture.

Thanks! Mine took some experiment before I decided to take the plunge. :D

The eyes I used normal sea blue and a verrryyyyy fine brush to dot the optics. YOu might want to apply black on the eyes first so the blue will stand out when it is dotted on the visor.

Hope this helps. BTW, your awesome Protoform Prime is what inspired me to dig out mine to repaint it.:thumb

Alright, thanks for sharing. I definitely have to try that out sometime. I do hope that the Mr Metal Stainless is available over here in my country, as I don't remember ever seeing it in hobby shops where I buy Gunze Sangyo stuff.

I've seen mr metal color stainless where I buy my mr metal color chrome silver paint. I buy at SM fairview at a shop called special toys center. They have branches on SM north and Greenhills, or maybe you could check their website. I used chrome silver for my prime.
