After assisting with the clean-up in Mission City, most Autobots were released from active duty. Frustrated and disintertested with what Earth had to offer, Grimlock wandered alone, ending up in in rural Japan. While climbing to higher ground, he was caught in landslide and for the first time, needed help. Befriended my a masterless samurai Mifune, Grimlock was able free himself with his aid. Wandering the countryside together, Mifune teaches Grimlock the art of Bushido, the way of the sword. \ It is the first time since landing on Earth that Grimlock has felt a sense of peace and of purpose. He felt the blade was an extension of himself, a means to an end rather than a tool of destruction. The sky overhead crackles with fire and heat, as protoforms sterak through the sky toward Earth. Over his communicator an encoded message comes through...from Optimus Prime. It seems his new found peace will not be long lasted. Dedicated to : Plowking (Thanks for your support) Inspired by: WWI Grimlock by Frenzy_Rumble Original Concept/Digibash by: Cataclizm 1 This month marks the 2nd anniversary of Darkcave Customs, so I wanted to celebrate it by re-tackling one of my favorite molds, TFTM Longarm into TFTM Grimlock. This is my third version, and this one is a lil different from the last 2. His sword is half of Armada Cyclonus' helicopter blade, and the entire piece was hand painted (except for the Krylon base Coat).
AMAZING! completely amazing! nomatter how many times i see any of your grimlocks it amazes me! this one honestly takes the cake! Grimlock learning the art of Bushido! This is AWSOME!
Nicely done, E Is this one going to PK too, or staying in your collection ??? Edit: I see by your sig he's on ebay. Paging PK, ............ Plowking to Ebay STAT !!!!!
Yes, big swords makes me happy. Incredible amazing custom with a consistent story behind. This is your best one. It reminds me of my Ronin Silvestreak, but in my world he was possesed by the spirit of a dead samurai. Congratulations on your second anniversary. Long live to Darkcave Customs!
Thanks guys! Cataclizm 1 does deeserve all the credit for the digibash of this guy, it really is a perfect mold for him. I'm debating it. I had an idea a while ago, but with the new figs coming soon, I may wait to see if something fits Swoop and Slag better (was never that into Sludge or Snarl...sorry) It fits him huh? Paging Hasbro... I'm surprised no one has dinged me for the Soul Eater anime reference(If you haven't watched it, watch it NOW! Black Star and Tsubaki Rules!!! ) I'm doing another one for me now. He doesn't take long to paint (I did him at lunch breaks during work last week) No, PK can't have all of them! Thanks you sir. man, its cool to have you back! Muchas Gracias, guys! You were one of the guys who told me to get to it, so thank you very much, sir.
Wow, I can't believe this is the third version of this . . . I still remember being awestruck by your first one. This one doesn't disappoint either. The dirtiness on the alt mode works really well (especially since white doesn't stay clean well). I'm not sure why some of you guys paint your translucent plastic a solid color, but your palette for this one isn't bad. The sword is a nice touch, and he looks great in bot mode. I enjoy the little details such as the dirt in between pattern on the bed. I can't count the times I've seen that metal look like that. Congrats on the anniversary! I just passed up my 4th in January
Hey! You should include a longer story to go along with this custom. Love your 'story telling'! heheeh!
Great job. Your story and repaint make me think to myself why is Hasbro not doing this right now. If they were going to make Grimlock I do not think I woulda want it any other way. Ah and the sword rocks.
