Why is there a heavy want for him? He's not named correctly either
I was wondering the same thing myself. Almost making me considering parting with mine. Shadow ROTF Megatron is nuts too though...
because he is a good mold?
One of the figures I've always wanted is forever out of my reach.
I'd want Leader Brawl, or his redeco Deep Desert Brawl, for two reasons:
1. At Leader class, he's roughly in scale with most of the other Movie figures
2. As a mold that Hasbro doesn't own outright, odds are slim that it'll ever show up at retail again
Would I pay $100 for him? No.
Ahahah really? I remember when the Premium was warming shelves for months!
Because he's the best Bayformer Leader class, has a awesome design and hasn't be reused since the Allspark power line.
Also it helps that Brawl never got a replacement figure like Prime and Megatron did in ROTF.
I assume you mean the Deep Desert repaint. I don't believe he was a premium.
Where are you getting the $100 value from? eBay? I guess I haven't really looked for this since I have both versions, but he is a really awesome figure and one of my favorites from the movie line.
Yeah I was about to say... or rather type, that Prime and Megs were the only Premium leader class figs.
As for the demand, It's probably the same people paying $150+ for a MISB Supreme Devastator.
Wow... You're better off checkin the w/s/t threads here! I passed him up in 07/08 for some reason, but finally got him here earlier in the year... On a trade at that!
Really? I've picked up 2 locally for $10 each. Guess i do have a lil' luck.
I found one at BBTS for less than 20 but it had a broken tank tread.
Mainly because he's awesome.
Luckily I got mine in a trade for an Animated Ironhide.
Where is he going for that much? Mind you, a bunch of auctions at 100 USD BIN don't mean squat if no-one is buying.
Search by completed listings. Going for between $90-$150 the past couple of weeks on auctions where he was bought.
Is he actually selling for over $100 or is that just what some people are listing him for? Listing prices don't necessarily reflect market demand/value, it's just the price at which the seller thinks they can unload the figure...which may have no connection to reality whatsoever.
Here is an auction for him with 4 days left with no BIN price. Wow, I am surprised!
Transformers 2007 Movie Leader Brawl Loose Complete | eBay
Loose. Nice. Should I sell mine now? And rebuy when the market cools down post-movie. Will it cool down? Brawl's been going for over $60-$70 for years now. I should have bought a bunch when they were showing up at Marshalls for $20 in 09.
Glad I got mine earlier last year for $40
Yeah, I had just about given up on this guy when Peaugh sold me his slightly modded version. He's not worth his going rate now, but he looks very good and has really fun gimmicks in robot mode.
Plus, he's an interesting anomaly in the movie lines. A character got a big figure FOR being big and cool looking, rather than due to having any particular importance or name value.
Add that to the "no more Leader Decepticons" despair, and the general feeling that Hasbro has already peaked with movie-line quality (I'm not sure this is the case, but Hasbro is certainly not helping their case at the moment) and people who missed out are now scrambling. How many figures that aren't a crappy ass Megatron can you pose fighting Leader Optimus Prime? Well, there is Starscream, Sentinel...and Brawl.
BTW, I fully expect Starscream's price to go crazy someday.
