What are some Transformers you've picked up and enjoyed despite them not being all that great? An example: I really have fun with the Voyager Optimus mold from the 2007 Movie line, even though there's many other, better versions of Movie Prime out there.
Many people would describe the Energon Powerlinx Autobots as "not very good", but I enjoyed the hell out of each and every single one of them. The mix-and-match gimmick was fun, articulation be damned. For the longest time, Energon Hot Shot was my favourite figure ever, for some ungodly reason.
2007 Deluxe Jazz. I have that OP mold too, and I don't really like it. The only fun thing about it is the driver gimmick. Doesn't help that one of the legs on mine doesn't lock properly.
Movie DLX Jazz, before I broke it and now DOTM VOY Ironhide. At least yours only has leg problems because the doors on mine don't lock in robot mode and the missiles always like to come out. EDIT: I also like my ROTF DLX Jolt even though his left shoulder window is very loose and comes off easy. EDIT 2: I love DOTM DLX Sideswipe because like hell I care about dull grey unpainted plastic.
Hell, I kind of dig its vehicle mode. Plus, the Mini-Con storage gimmick is pretty neat. I just wouldn't pay over $5 sue to the craptastic robot mode. The Animated Seeker mold, as well. I've been seeing a lot of hate for this mold, and it's one of my favorites from the line.
Universe Galvatron. Animated Deluxe Bumblebee (people seem to dislike this one, but I think it's great). RTS Perceptor (again, lots of people seem not to like this toy, but I love him).
Universe Galvatron. SO MANY people hate this mold, but I love it. Could it be better? Sure. But I lucked out and I've never had a piece fall off in transformation or anything. Everything is solid and works well. ROTF Blazemaster. Again, I love this mold. What the engineers were able to do with all the chopper parts is just beautiful to me. I also love the bird aesthetic of it.
What? Animated Leader Megatron is good (and simple) and both Movie and ROTF OPs are excellent figures (if a bit complex in ROTF's case). All three are widely liked around here.
Agreed on both accounts. The only problem I have with Blazemaster is the fact that the backpack on mine doesn't like to stay put... like, at all. Doesn't stop him from being a welcome member of my movie Autobot Air Force "display".
Because they're different things. For example, I still enjoy Universe Galvatron, even if it has a lot of flaws that can't be denied. It's like when you really like crappy movies.
I think the question is mainly about toys that have been generally negatively received, such as Universe Galvatron or ROTF Blazemaster (both toys I love, but most people don't).
