    Hi all,
I just arrived in mainland China for a month of tourism.
I was wondering if anyone on the board from China could enlighen me as to where to find TFs here.
I will be staying in Hangzhou, and visiting Bejing and Shanhai. I am especially interested in things that are hard to find in the states, like KOs and Chinese G1 stuff.
    Thanks,
    Overkill

My advice? Hit all the indoor marketplaces. I wasn't collecting at the time, but I saw plenty of stuff in Changchun (Jilin province) and Beijing back in '97. It's all kinda pell-mell, and hard to find anyone who truly understands what you're looking for (it took me half a day to find guitar strings), but you might find something worth your while.
HAGGLE. I have a sword that they street vendor started off trying to sell me for 400 Yuan (about $50 at the time). I ended up paying 50 Yuan (about $7.50). Not that it's a great sword or anything, but for $7.50 (less than a deluxe), it's fun. Also, as an American (I assume), don't show too much (or any) interest in something unless you're willing to be chased down by the shopkeepers as they haggle with you. I only bought the aforementioned sword after 8 minutes of the guy following me with it. Ticket to China: $1,000. Chinese sword: $7.50. Not having a shopkeeper stalking me with it? Priceless.

In the meantime, stay away from restaurants unless you know they're safe (food poisoning is not a huge concern there, apparently), and enjoy the sights. Try to stay near the touristy areas if you like commodes, as the squat toilets took a little getting used to. Squat toilets + food poisning= new shoes for Tony   . Try to look a little deeper than the China that the tour guides and government want you to see, and you'll find some people with genuine heart.

    -Tony!
Also got a 50 cent hair cut better than $20 cuts in the States.

I finally found some KO TFs!
They were in a large Supermarket that was kinda like a Walmart Supercenter.
They had a bunch of Energon KOs and some brave series KOs.
I picked up two of the Brave construction bots that combine down the middle like Energon Omega Supreme.
The quality is decent as far a KOs go, and the figure is cool.
I hope I can find the other two from this series.

In Shanghai, there're Hasbro's stuff in malls, the price won't be any lower than anywhere else (Probaly the same in other large cities).

If u try to get some KOs, go to ChengHuang Miao @FuYou Lu (Chenghuang Temple, Fuyou Road).

Kunming is down the very south....
He will need to fly across the mainland to get there...

But yes, youcan find more stuff by shopping online; however, KOs are 1000 times cheaper at local markets.
