Wanted to ask an see what people thought about this design for the tv show. Do u all think what he looks like is a better homage to the character soundwave then his g1 counterpart? Sleek, stealthy kinda robot in the show compared to a big bulky robot with different alt modes?

it's a great look imo. A big bulky robot was fine, but this design fits his character more imo. He still keeps the 'sound' based inspiration, but now he looks more sneaky/sleek. Plus his 'screen' face is pretty cool.

It's utterly ghastly, can not stand the sight of it, same goes for that hideous Starscream.

Soundwave has a perfect design and alt-mode. both suit his character to a T

and the fact he can't speak except for playing back things he recorded is a brilliant concept.

Laserbeak is really cool as well. especially love how he combines with soundwave so he's an extension but still an individual. The 2 together have never failed any given task thrown at them.

so, sorry most of you are so stuck on one particular version of a character.

feel free to continue ranting, it's entertaining. :lol

MP Soundwave looks too cool for me to vote against it for TFP Soundwave. Also, I don't like the toy's gorilla arms.

I don't love Prime Soundwave's design. Plus the character is extremely bland to me so that doesn't help.

how can he be a better homage than the original? well, maybe since the original isn't a homage at all, but what every version homages to

for tfp, he's ok, thought it was a neat take on him, when i sell my prime figures, i'll keep him for my soundwave shelf.

The OP said that Prime Soundwave is a better homage to the character of Soundwave; as in loyal cold and robotic spy for Megatron. Personally, I like Prime Soundwave, but I like both bodies for different roles. G1 makes me think more of a commander who carries his team of saboteurs, demolitionist, scouts, and spies with him. Prime Soundwave is more of an assasin/ spy himself.

Good design, I like it. I enjoy re-interpreatations of characters. The faceless look suits his character (as well as his very appropriate drone alt mode), and the spindly arms arm creepy and vampire-like. I only wish his design accommodated minions a bit better, as Soundwave is partly defined by his minions.
