Just found it and 'd like to share.

Transformers Prime has been nominated in the category Best Animated Series for Kids, by Kidscreen Awards. The winners will be announced on Feb 9th, 2012.

Though it's not a huge award or something, it's still good to have the show gets a bit more attention and recognition.

 

Only 3 nominees? That seems odd.

Then again, it also has Bob's Burgers and Dan Vs. nominated for best tween/teen series: I don't think they got their demographics right there, either that or tween-based animation is slim pickings this year.

 

Good to see the show getting more discovered by other mainstream stations!  It's nice it got awards as well! 

 

TTT Time to Troll: After a very good entry I must say this series sucks hard. Apart from uber-stupid and boring storylines the graphics and animations are horrid. The texture resolution is much better in most PC Games these days. Toys seems to be interesting though and voice acting is good. -- I say it shall not win any price. These lazy screenwriters (from Michael Bay Movie 1 and 2) should do their job first

 

Wait, TF: Prime is listed under KIDS?

Excuse me if I have differing opinions about a show that centers on war, combat and hi-then-die characters.

Are you serious or are just pulling our legs? Because while the show has it's flaws it's FAR from being the worst. It's storys and characters blow the movie's writing right out of the water! The writes for the first two movies AREN"T writing the show at all,they are exacetive producers of the show. The animation is GLORYUS, the toys did a great first impressions as well. Well how do you know it won't win any more awards?

I find it weird that they consider Dan Vs. more mature than Transformers Prime.

 

I thought Prime would be more of a teen show than a kid show.

It'll be tough... no clear winners, I should say, considering that kids also loved "The Amazing World of Gumball" of CN and "Rated A for Awesome" of Nick... best of luck The Hub!!!

 

And no My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, which is way better written than Prime. I call shenanigans.

Hope Prime wins though, would be a nice boost for the team involved in its creation.

 

Well both My Little Ponys and Transformers Prime are very good shows in their own right in my opinon!  Still I'm glad TFP is getting more noticed!

 

Why does it have to be a "Kids Animated Series"? Can't we just simply call it an "Animated Series"? It obviously appeals to a much broader demographic than just children.

And that's not just Transformers Prime, that goes for Animation as an entire genre. It's really not just for kids anymore. And I wish more people would realize that....

*ahem* Please excuse my mindless rambling.

 

I'm not saying Prime is bad, I just think it isn't as good as a number of shows that didn't even get nominated. Heck – though not relevant to this year's awards, there are prior Transformers series that were better as well. Beast Wars, Beast Machines and Animated were all superior, IMO, so it's a little vexing to see the current incarnation get the nod on such an exclusive list when it could be so much more.

This is true, but in this case the shows in question are technically written for and marketed primarily to kids, however much we may want it to be otherwise. You'll notice that there's no South Park, Simpsons, Family Guy or Futurama on the nominations list.
