First off, I want to thank each and every Radicon who has done a similar mod/build for all the ideas and inspiration. I spent about a week looking through all the different threads taking ideas here and there for my own project.

I found a clip on reading light at the Family Dollar hardware section of all places for $1. I snipped off the clip, filed down the remaining peg to fit into Megatron's arm, took the light apart and painted it purple leaving the already chrome parts as is, finally, I painted the tip from the original cannon silver and attached the front piece to the new cannon. The color doesnt show that well in my pics but I assure you that it is purple LOL!

Next will probably be painting the rest of the figure, just as soon as I'm done doing the same to my Classics Megatron.

    Thanks for looking!

Looks great. I have something very similar planned after ordering a light like that from ebay. I hope mine comes out half as nice. What precisely did you do to the peg to get it to slot into his arm like that? I've seen some people who tried to make a peg out of styrene and had difficulty. Thanks!

And your breath is fine, by the way.

    LOL!
I cut the clip at the longest possible point to give me room for error, then I took a file and slowly filed the peg at an angle so it would go into the arm straight. Once that was done I had to thicken it with nail polish to get it to stay in place, which was helped further by the paint too.
LMK if you want, I'll take a pic of the peg itself.
    Thanks

That looks really good. I like that you got it as close to the arm as possible. Mine isn't as close on the mod I did to mine. Who knew that a cheap book light could get so much use?

Holy crap! I just picked up that light today and I had this thread in mind when I saw it, I didn't think it would be the same one though!
