Has anyone seen this before? It's on sale in Hong Kong. It looks quite professional but wanted to see if anyone has heard of this before?

 

Actually I just read more, it's a custom kit unpainted but available at 2-weeks notice. One for Arcee and Prime in the works.

There's one for Sentinel Prime Voyager to deck him out like the Leader version, good effort I say.

If I was still buying TF toys, I'd probably buy those. They look pretty good and I still like my Deluxe Starscream.

 

Wait, are those being sold in at a store (online store or brick and mortar doesn't matter)?

Because if so, then Fakebusker is totally being ripped the fuck off. Those are his designs and sold via Shapeways. Even those pictures are his I believe.

HMMM! I guess this has eventually got to happen...I'm not sure what am I supposed to be feeling now. One, I'm quite flattered my work has got to a point that others are blatantly copying it, and I'm pleased about that.

But two, I'm feeling aggravated, as my work is being blatantly copied without my knowledge and passed off as someone else's. Even the photos are mine, and they are shown here with no modification at all.

There is no honour among thieves, is there?  

Hence, let me at this juncture come out and say that I have nothing to do with this and I knew nothing about it until this morning. Now I don't know what the deal is with this people, but here are a few possibilities:


#1: They are purchasing from my store wholesale and selling it at a higher markup.
In this case, know that the originals are available on my Shapeways and most likely at the original, lower price. Don't get ripped off paying the middleman.

#2: They got my got my models and they are molding and casting it.
If this is true, good luck to them. Many parts in this set cannot be easily molded, and the only good way of getting it the way it's supposed to be designed is through Shapeways 3D printing. The Sentinel voyager set might be easier to cast though...

#3: They are showing my photos, getting preorder money and then bailing out. You won't see the product at all.
If this is the case, please, please spread the word to the community and warn them about a possible scam. My models are tried and true, and are always available on my Shapeways. Me too, am always here to give support. I know nothing about these guys. I don't even know what their game plan is. Please be careful.


Of course, in the end if they are able to release the set in good quality, cheaper prices and maintain the integrity of the design, I'd say go! you have my blessing to get what they are offering. We are all 3rd party people, and price is king. But who do you trust?

Unicronic, do you have anymore information about them besides they are from Hong Kong? Do they have a website and are they formally recognised as a company?

As for the rest of you who know me and my work, and have been friends to me all this time (I hope!  ), I need a favour. Spread the word. Don't let fellow fans get ripped off. The karmic reaction will hit me as well.

Although, I'd must say that is nice, snazzy graphics they are using LOL

 

I only noticed Starscream even had a blaster quite recently - I actually thought he had under wing fuel tanks not missiles for a while as that's what F-16's have and he looks a bit like an F-16 jet.

Both sets work well though.

I had a though I wonder if it's possible to make the accessories changed to accept a mounting for the Minicons/Microns coming soon on the Deluxe Starscream too as well as the Takara Voyager Starscream ?

Damn, this sucks. Really hope nobody buys from these guys and instead buys it from Fakebuster himself.

Well, maybe I'll do that, but I don't like having to watch my ass all the time, watermarking my pictures, making sure no one copies it, etc. Let's face it, if someone wants to copy something, it's unavoidable.

Besides, watermarking is ugly. Useful, but ugly.

However, this is the Internet. No one can 'steal' something and not have anyone call him out for it. I'm just hoping word spreads fast enough that no one is cheated by these people.

Thankfully TFW2005 does have a broad reach and a worldwide audience. Someone will know.

 

Wow, this is so stupid. I am in support of you Fakebusker. It just seems like recently our member's works have been copied more and more.
