Michael Bay Confirms That TRANSFORMERS 4 Will Be His Last

He should really just stay on as producer, like Singer and Verbinski did with their respctive franchises.

I've heard that before... Watch him return for TF5 when they wave enough money in his face.

And by 'original cast members' I suppose he's only talking human characters? Since those are the ones that really matter to him. Or will Cullen and Welker and co be gone too and original voice cast members also be changed?

If the article is correct, then I wonder if Peter Cullen is out? If so, then screw that. You can't have Optimus without him.

Maybe they mean the Human cast of characters is completly new. Bay knows he cant get rid of Cullen (unless Cullen is very btu very bust during TF4 pos-Production)

Looking at how Pain & Gain came to be, I think Bay is being truthful here. Pain & Gain was a passion project and Paramount said the only way they were going to make it is if Bay also agreed to do TF4. They got him by the balls and squeezed them hard. By the kinds of things he said before and the way he said them he quite clearly didn’t want to come back for a fourth film, but he also wanted to get Pain & Gain made. Cynicism aside, I think TF4 will be Bay’s last Transformers film as director.

 

Megatron already killed Bay in the first film.

 

This also mentions that he's "re-designing" the robots, and this will serve as a "reboot" of sorts, yet Nelson clearly said that this would be a direct sequal from DOTM.

 

So Dark of the Moon is gonna be Bay's last film? Good, I don't think we really need... oh wait, my bad. I think when Bay says something is his "last film" he means "I won't be making another, unless they make my paycheck bigger, of course".

Obviously "redesign" means "GEEWUN" and not "Starscream with tattoos" or "more heroic Optimus Prime." Because that will make everyone happy and totally won't look awkward after 3 mega-popular movies.
