nope. Same head sculpt, paint job, headlights, windows not clear. Prototype but quality of pictures is better, plus anticipation gives you some sort of illusion that it's different.

Still need to see him in comparison with other Movieverse stuff.

usually I'm not too pressed for total scale accuracy but I don't want him to be a giant compared to others either...

He's got the grill on his chest, the wheels on his knees, the wheels in his ankles, the engine pieces on his back, and the thigh and shoulder armor are most likely meant to be folded up car panels. He's also got the car logo and parts of the front bumper on his waist and the taillights on his back. I'd say thats about as much car kibble as the majority of the first trilogy designs, but its just a lot more streamlined.

Looks great! Head still looks like the low point of the figure though. I love how his door wings can be folded flat or left slightly sticking out like in the movie. It always annoyed me how almost EVERY main carbot had door wings, so I like the option to give him a more unique look.
    Word.
Same here. If he was smaller I wouldn't have canceled my preorder. I'd much rather he had been MOM-sized and a little cheaper.
I would love an updated Drift figure, and I think it's doable, but I'd much prefer his TLK look to the blue bugatti. That Mercedes is so cool!

Im sure we could get a top notch Drift figure after seeing what TFevo has done here. Just needs a good bit of clever designing and abandon the helicopter mode completely (because that would be too difficult to pull off and I don't think many would honestly mind much). The Aoe vs Tlk look is a tough choice for me. I definitely like the Mercedes alt mode from Tlk more but I also really like the blue from Aoe.

I didn't even remember the helicopter mode until you just mentioned it. I do like the blue colors, but the mercedes is so nice, so I guess we're in agreement but overall I'd definitely choose the TLK look.
Haha no fuck that random-ass alt mode that they only used for a couple pointless scenes.

Ironically, it looks like Drift's swords store on part of his helicopter mode's main rotor assembly in bot mode.

The helicopter is easy to do because it's made out of car parts and some dedicated helicopter parts (rotors and landing gear)!

Drifts helicopter mode shows no Bugatti parts at all.

Yeah, so easy to cram a rear rotor and landing gear into a figure that will probably have a million parts just to convert into 2 decent-looking molds. G1 triple changers are even hard and they’re just a bunch of LEGO blocks compared to the movie designs!

The reason why i find drift (it's not easy) a bit easier to do than most of the triple changers it's because his helicopter mode has no form whatsoever and drift it's just a bunch of thousands of parts, the hard thung would be making a clean alt mode with the other ones.

What would of been a really cool idea (maybe later as a repaint) is if one of these 3rd parties did this movie hot rod and included a transforming spoiler on his back so that he looks like g1 hot rod...just a thought ;)

It’s also why I’d rather they leave it out entirely instead of compromising even 10% of the design of the other modes. It’s also why I don’t care for it.
