Man, that pliers test is just weird... so what's it made of then, all PVC? (soft plastic)
There's no way ABS would be that resilient, and you can't paint or make clear POM or Nylon...

I was thinking about how painting the material would work too. Might explain why there's so little paint and the reason the paint wear is already so severe on the test runs.

Has the company commented on the finish? I'm expecting most of this to be molded in black, but it doesn't look to have the nice shiny finish I would expect of a movieverse Autobot sports car.

Not the heavy bots!... Well the "skin" can be made of that plastic, but the skeleton needs to be more rigid! hahaha like a person!

So, seeing as he appears to be made of a flexible, indestructible material from the future; how does this effect how paint sticks to that surface?
I know painting plastic and then bending it will result in cracks and chipping but is this sort of material simply less paint-friendly?
Since I bought an airbrush gun a little while ago, I have a ‘must repaint every movie-bot’ mindset so I can have them all metallic and a bit scuffed which has become half of fun of collecting now so if what Hot Fire is made of doesn’t hold paint well then that’ll diminish my anticipation and enjoyment of the figure a fair bit.

I’ll still paint him regardless but, as I’m new to this, it’d be good to know if there’s any particular technique I should employ with this material such as maybe lightly gloss coating the surface first which could make the paint stick better?
