TFCon.ca has posted an image gallery of the TFCon exclusive Powered Commander, a repaint/remold of the City Commander armor in Diaclone Powered Convoy(pre-Transformers Optimus Prime) colors.

This set is limited to 500 pieces and only available at TFCon. Which is Canada's Annual Transformers Convention at the Doubletree International Plaza Hotel, on April 25 & 26 in Toronto, Ontario. This set will not be reproduced for mass market.

As far as I know, you can still pre-register to reserve a set for yourself. But they are only available to attendees. It should be noted this is not the final product. The final product's colors may vary(probably a redder red) and will include shoulder cannons and a suitcase of energony goodness.

I think these photos are old. They did a mock-up of Powered Convoy quite awhile ago just to see what it would look like. It's been a few months I think.

Dang. Are these really just prototype images? I still think it would look better with a more Optimus-esque head, at least as an interchangeable head.

 

 

WAY too garish. Looks like a Power Ranger.
And if they're gonna bother applying it to "Convoy", I think there should be a new head so it's more of a Powermaster Prime setup instead of...oh, a...uh...recoloured Magnus. Which quite frankly, we don't need. Do we?!

I think it kind of sucks that this thing is exclusive and limited to 500 pieces. Mainly because so many fans have expressed interest in buying one of these back when it was just a mock up. It feels like botcon 2007 all over again. I'm not sure if people can buy this that aren't going to the TFcon, if they can it's not so bad, but that would kind of defeat their purpose of it being an exclusive.

Not saying I even want one myself but I think the makers of the set know well enough that fans have wanted this for a while now. Why not sell this set like they have the others and make a shining yellow/gold version for the con?

I think it's hilarious how the recoloured version for the easiest to get of the Classics Prime releases is the exclusive one. Scalpers, start your engines!

Hoping for a slightly diffrent non exclusive release.

 

I'd love to have one. But I have a hunch these are going to be expensive. And then tack on the scalper inflated prices...well, there goes my thought of even owning one.
