Cool! I didn't even know TFcon did this. Do people sell these for ridiculous prices like the Botcon ones?

 

They should have used the wheeljack/tracks mold. It would've looked more accurate.

 

Bummer (at least for us non-attendee folks). Yet another classics figure most of us won't own (and this is coming from someone who owns the G2 Botcon Sideswipe)

 

ack i just get sick of seeing classics characters that i will never own because they are exlusives TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD lol

its serously anoying i hope that one day just like thundercracker hasbro turns around and goes we are re releaseing these characters but in slighty diffrent colours punch/counterpunch is a sore spot to me cause he was one of my favrout characters in g1

 

You should have seen last year. G2 Flash from the Universe Aveo Swerve mold.

It's far from an official Classics release, nothing to freak out about. It's like complaining that we'll never see Classics Character 1904 happen because a "Pro Customizer" made one.

Besides, G1 Downshift is probably further down the G1 Totem Pole than characters like Scrounge or Erector. It's not like there're great odds from seeing him as a mainline release if he was released at all, just like the G2 Flash they did last year. TFCon's been pretty smart about their customizing class toys.

Maybe that mold was in use. The TFclub are useing it for Runabout and Runamuck, aren't they?

 

Damm. Of all the characters they could have picked, they used my favorite Omnibot.

Well, here's hoping for some good pics at least. Might make for a nice wallpaper.

 

^ THIS. The small picture next to the news link screams Wheeljack Kitbash... I fail to see how the Prowl mold works for it... Prowl's leg silhouette would work if the front of the car was used for the legs, not the back of it. the Wheeljack/Tracks chest is perfect for Downshift too... smh.

 

My favorite omni too, they should have waited if they couldn't use the Wheeljack / Tracks
mold, nothing like total inaccuracy, they should have used Overdrive instead as the
character.

 

um, you do no they are just gonna be customizing a bunch of MOSC universe 2.0 prowls right? that's how it is done. literally for Universe 2.0 R.E.V. they just opened a ton of sunstreakers and painted them

same for g2 flash, they got their hands on tons of the aveo swerve toy and painted them

this is just something fun they do, you ain't missing nothing, hell, you can do it yourself!

 

Exactly... well, for the most part. If they have original Reprolabels like they did last year, then you'd just be missing that. It'd be really interesting to see what they do for the head...

 

well yeah, i'm just saying that it isn't like with this years botcon 2011 minerva, you ain't missing out on anything really.

 

can't wait to make this…the only drawback is i'm not a huge fan of the mold.

Well, you can always wait for the photos and use them as a template to make your own  

 

Universe Prowl seems kind of a weird choice. He doesn't look anything like Downshift.

 

Why do this in the first place? Why make a classics downshift from Universe prowl if classics downshift already exists?

There's no classics Downshift.

 

I used to rp Downshift WAAAAAY back in the early days of mushing on the Generation 1 mush a bit before TFW2005 came into being.
