Yeah, Khanna shouldn't just be relegated to doing covers for IDW, he needs to be on a full-fledged miniseries. I've been a big fan of his work ever since he made Beast Wars posters for sale-- I have two of 'em in my room.

And the dialogue is quite impressive, as well. Already two quotables-- "You missed window." "Wasn't AIMING for window." and "Siren-- INSIDE voice, please."

The only thing I won't like about this comic is that it'll constantly remind me that my Timelines Nightbeat is antennae-less.

Looks cool, but it's a pet peeve of mine to see robots drinking. The A-team reference is a little corny, but I just might have to see about getting ahold of this.

I'm rarely in it for the art, but that art is spectacular! IDW - sign this guy up (assuming he has not been drawing bots already and I just missed it somehow) and the cover guy too! Sometimes I'm tempted to join the club just to get the comics. I care not for the figs.

I am going to say that I enjoyed the artwork and the story (to me, I call it "a good read" as in, I was able to read it and enjoy it) regarding this Comic Preview.

I generally find Khanna's artwork overrated. His one-offs are good, but the quality takes a nosedive when he does more than a couple of pages. This is a different case, though, he's improved before creating this. Everything looks as good as his higher-quality one-offs. Very good work indeed.

The writing is also (so far) better than the quality of a normal Club story.

I wish this had been sold separately from the toy as originally planned. I want the comic, but don't want to pay $40 to get it along with a toy that I have absolutely no desire to own.

Too bad for me, it looks like.

Me too. I think I may be passing on Nightbeat but I would grab a couple of Minervas in a second.

Not too impressed by the writing. Already the first 'in brackets' monologue by Nightbeat doesn't really make sense.

And Nightbeat really sounds off-character in these pages.

I guess I'm biased because so far in IDW, Simon Furman managed much better to recapture the feeling that made Nightbeat one of my favourite Autobots in the Marvel G1 comics... Then again, he's the creator of the character...

Dan's actually the artist on Spotlight: Doubledealer, coming in August. Don't miss it, he's certainly brought his A-Game out on it.
