Ah yes, that memorable character Dion, I watched that episode a couple of weeks ago, still had to look him up though.

As for the toy, no interest, an obscure character made from a crap mold, Yaay!

Unless I'm going to Botcon next year, thank you FP, you've saved me the ridiculous amount of money you charge those of us outside the States.

I don't like the mold, I'm not a fan of the character, I don't have the other Elite Guard figures, and I've become disenchanted with the club magazine. Unless Botcon is within 50 miles of my house, I don't think I'm renewing this year.

I have nothing against the toy. Though I still havent opened my Hotshot, but looks wise I like, the character, well I don't remember the guy. I wont be rejoining for it, nor will I rejoin for the the exclusives as its cheaper to get another member to order for me unless they put limits on orders. Pax and Arial if thats what the next two years are also have no interest for me though if Hound or Cyclonus are used I'll need to get them.

I'd much rather see those used in a Botcon or club set I was more excited about. Last years utterly poor beyond anything else FP have produced Botcon comic soured me on the elite guard thing. After being so excited the comic and Thunderclash and Kup and Landshark have sapped my interest.

Plus side if those two moulds were used to my mind that increases the odds of an Animated theme next year as four of the best Universe moulds will have been used.

if they get rid of the spoiler on the back of him or use the henkei version of the mould or both, it would solve the arm problems, won't save the fact the legs swivel at both ends making him difficult to stand looking good.

"War Dawn" is one of my favorite G1 episodes. Seeing as the BotCon comic left off with them recovering the Matrix, and Ariel and Orion Pax (probably in that order) are logical choices to fill out a three-figure set, I could definitely see them building up to a retelling of that story in this alternate G1 timeline.

Besides, isn't the point of fan exclusives to give fanboys random obscure figures, or would you all prefer for them to continue releasing major characters as club exclusives (Games of Deception, anyone)? :)

I think the idea is great but I wish they chose a better mold.

Absolutely. Love the idea of making a Dion toy. Not loving the use of that mold. Dion was a truck, people!

At least he doesn't look like a little freak compared to the first Dion toy.

Someone mentioned earlier about how Henkei Wheelie could work as Dion. I think that could actually work better than Hot Shot.

Maybe they should get rid of the visor on this Hot Shot repaint for (slightly) better accuracy with his animation model. Or at least paint the visor in the same color as his helmet.

Ha, you win the thread :D

The Kup mold is perfect for Dion, more than Orion Pax.

On the plus side I like the fact that the freebie figure this year is also a deluxe and not just because it's the fifth combiner piece.
