Can't wait to watch this when I get home!

    -edit-

Great review! Question: is it easy to get to the electronics? I'm thinking about swapping out the blue LED for an orange one, but I don't want to deal with prying apart glued pieces.

Can the CC mold hold any of these guns?

Just got my toy sets in the mail from TFSource! I highly recommend the set. Not only is the craftsmanship up-to-par, but the awesome way that you can customize the gun is a lot of fun. The larger gun was a little bigger than I initially gauged from pics, but I am very happy with the set. The instructions even show a cool way to use the LED lighting for Henkei Convoy's eyes.

My only complaint about the set involves the smaller gun. The peg is just too large for Alternity Convoy's hand.

To answe the question above: yes, City Commander can hold the guns in any configuration. See the following pic:

If anyone has any pic requests I can snap a few more pics tomorrow after work..but I'm sure many other people will be getting this soon...or they already have it and are too busy enjoying it!

CC's hand fits inside the bigger cannon? Or is it holding it by a handle underneath?

i might get this to use on DIA commander

DIA commander = TF GoW 2
Shadow Commander = PerfectEffect TAW Sword
Magnus = FP's missiles and gun

Well the bigger cannon is comprised of two halves: top and bottom.

Each has a peg...and when you snap the top halves together to form the bigger cannon, the two pegs connect to become the handle...which is what City Commander is holding.

In order for any figure to hold the handle of the bigger cannon, the hand of the figure would have to fit inside the two halves and have a hand with a peg hole that goes through the entire hand.

So yes, City Commander's hand fits inside the large cannon to hold the weapon. He looks bad ass with two of the bigger cannons in his hands! Although I've never seen City Commander not look badas.

The other thing I liked about this set is the packaging. I really felt they did a phenomenal job on this set.

The batteries are very easy to get to on both sets...but I'll have to look a little closer tonight (after work) to see if the LED is also easy to get too.

From what I remember, everything seems held together with screws...so it should be easy to disassemble the unit and replace the LEDs. They appear to be the larger 7mm LEDs if that helps.

Looking at it, the clear plastic of the guns itself is blue so even if you did swap the bulbs it may not still have the effect you want.

As for getting to the bulbs; the compartment for the Alternity unit can be unscrewed and you can get to the bulb easy peasy. However, it looks as though you would need to pry apart the barrel of the large blaster after unscrewing the battery compartment to get to its bulb.

Awesome pics! I'm gonna take some tonight with different figures. Can't wait to see how this looks on Buster Prime. TCracker's awesome custom gives us an idea at least!

I think both the TFC rifle and the Buster Prime rifle are unique in their own way. Just the question of what you want exactly.

    (snip)

Anyway, back to topic. I tried the gun on Henkei COnvoy, it looked a tad big for him, anyone feels the same way?

I'd have to agree. The larger blaster just seems large for him (though it still looks better than the wind vane-o-cannon to me) but I like the look of it more than the Alternity one.

For now I've got it worked out where Classics Prime carries the Alternity blaster and RotF Prime gets his cannon. I'll only have any real conflicts if I ever get Alternity Convoy.

    Nice review!

I agree with you in that they should release the different individual guns...

I'm hoping with this being as fair a price it'll sell well enough to warrant individual versions for sale. Highly doubtful, I know, but you never know.
