That's ENTIRELY what it is. The price is fair, it's just entirely psychological.

Honestly though, if they space it out over a year, it's more palatable. It sounds to me like the first three are this year, and the next three in 2012.

It's grey now, but it's not like that means anything. It's not like the figure's going to be molded entirely in black.

Here in Canada, Automaton Toys just put up their pre-orders. I really want these bots, but at about $100 each, I really think I'll have to mull this one over before making a choice.

The two are related, however. The sample that was shown with the gray port was molded all in black - IE not final colors. There's no way to know what color the port will be at this time (unless we can get an above-view shot of that in-color testshot that was shown earlier).

I think that's just part of his chest plate, which looks white/grey because of the glare.

I've seen people pay £98 on ebay for a Henkei Ratchet.
Vintage G1 figues whose arms move up and down fetch ridiculous sums of money if you take off the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia (I rarely do).
If people want something they will pay what they have to.
As has already been stated, the cost isn't far out compared to similar sized third party figures/add ons.

Thanks for that update, BTW. Just placed my order with them instead. The flat-rate shipping works for me, and then I can keep these guys aside from my regular BBTS pile of loot.

Like most other 3rd party, TFC is growing and you shouldn't compare their worse and early products with what they are now.

No one ever says "I hope crossfire 3 have quality like Cliffjumper upgrade kit or Superion"... its their earlier products.

Or "I hope PE Reflector is better than TAW God Sword".

most company improves. The ones that don't, aren't here for long.

Well, their only transforming figure was pretty shitty. I'm still hoping for the best.

Their first, not only. People have being saying decent things about their Headmasters and Targetroid figures. I have Primars, and he's generally excellent. A lot of their weapon/accessory sets are of exceptional quality.

And, from what I've heard, most of Battle Rollars problems stem from the fact that he's pretty small, with thin joint parts.

These guys are all very thick and chunky looking, with sturdy joint designs.

Rollar is about the same size as Primars, between a Scout and a Deluxe. Just bad engineering. I got Primars and he's not without problems... minor ones, granted, but still not as good as FP releases. Targetroids have their problems as well (mostly floppyness). Headmasters are good.

    False, as explained below:

In addition, I have their Battle Rollar AND shadow Rollar. Its really not as bad as people say. The problem, as mentioned, is the thin joints.

The Targetoids have been amazingly fun for me. I can also vouch for their Gears of Wars sets, and their infinity warfare series. They have, just like most third party companies, learnt their mistakes and are moving to be better and better.

edit:: btw, I am not saying TFC is better than FP. I am saying they are up and coming, much like PE, to be good contenders.

I have Battle Rollar, Primars, all the Targetroids and all the Headmasters. I just forgot the last 3 were from them.

I really don't understand how people were expecting these to be cheaper. Don't people pay attention to other 3rd party prices?

That is my biggest concern. Nobody has ever said that future figures will be the same price and two of them obviously aren't even complete enough to be shown. This may well be the year of nasty surprises re: Hercules.

Preordered, but with my hand perched precariously over the cancel button. I've gone back and forth on this a hundred times since last night.
