Thats pretty much what mine looks like. So now I know it's not an isolated problem...

I seen a video of the Voyager size set and that versions "Hot Spot" has ratchets in that direction. I wonder if they reused some parts.

Or maybe it's just a widespread QC issue... like some of them got the ratcheting insert, but a whole run or more didn't?

Though I imagine that with the larger version, they really couldn't get away with no ratchets... the weight of the combined mode would just be waaaay too much.

I wonder what ever happened to these moulds? These are some pretty cool figures and its a shame the proposed Defensor redeco never saw the light of day?
We got the Dino-gestalt done out in vague AoE colours but no redeco for the Star Rescue Team?

Does anyone still have a little fiddle with this great gestalt or has he been banished to storage?;)

I still fiddle from time to time...I find the Dino combiner the most compelling. I wish I had purchased the smaller Star Cats version instead of the honking big one!

I was just checking out the web site of the KO maker who manufactered this combiner. Did some translation of the names they called them. Here they are:

Team name - Star Rescue Team
    Motorcycle name - Pioneer
    Helicopter name - Eagle
    Police truck name - Detective
    Ambulance name - Lightning
    Fire Truck name - Skyfire
Combined form name - Star God

You may remember the Star Rescue Team combiner, which was developed by TFC Toys back years ago, and designed by the same person who made Hercules and the Junkion Blacksmith Infinity Warfare set. While a licensed product of the Chinese cartoon Star Rescue Team, the designer originally intended to use the molds to make his own version of Generation 1 Defensor, with a limited run of the toys to be done in those colors with a new head and chest, for Transformers collectors. Well, it took years before Chinese manufacturer Jin Jiang Toys release the Star God combiner, and they had only released it in Star Rescue Team colors... UNTIL NOW!

Thanks to Sirtoys.com, we have out first look at the Star Rescue Team Star God combiner in G1 Defensor colors!

These are the G1 color concepts from the creator:

Now we just need someone to make the head and the chest pieces...

This planned Junkion Blacksmith kit was to give G1 heads and guns to G1 colored Star God.

I just hope this means G1 Dinobot recolors of the Star Rescue Team Dinobots.

So this is a KO of the TFC product using G1 Defensor colors, correct?

Not really a KO. TFC's designer of Hercules (who goes by the screen name "Xiao Red") designed this set at the same time, but TFC never released it. A Chinese company called Jin Jiang then released them a few years later. No one ever said Jin Jiang stole them that I have heard. Not sure if he sold them the designs, or if he works for Jin Jiang or what. Jin Jiang does make Transformers KOs.

The guy from TFC has posted online that he planned to get a limited run in Defensor colors for TF collectors, and he was having Junkion Blacksmith release a set of upgrade heads and weapons for it that looked like Protectobot heads, but they never appeared past renders, and he went quiet. I have to wonder if maybe the reason TFC never released them is because they decided to make Prometheus instead.

It appears to be the SMALLER one, I think. Can you tell by comparing them?
