I'm going to pass and hope we get a gift set. Gives me time to save, see the reviews, and check out their competition (maketoys).

I keep seeing that people are just going to leave him in his combined mode-really? No one is gonna be transforming him on a regular basis? I looove playing with my combiners. True, i leave them in combined mode when im not playing with them, but then when i do feel like fiddling with him, then BAM i got 6 times the fun

i can't. there's no way i can justify buying it at 100$. i've tried. believe me.

but the wife didn't deny me from buying it. that's enough for me.

I think I may do the same...I really like to see opinions of the figure in hand before making a critical decision.

Thank your for this thread. I am really on edge whether to bite the bullet and spend close to $100 dollars a figure. That just seems steep, but if it's a fun figure, and one that I will always go to once I am bored, then I would more than definitely pay that price. Heck, I spent 2 dollars on some ROFT EZ Devy figs that I play with more than any other toys. That type of playability is worth 100 dollars to me.

I think Hercules is unique from any of the past 3rd party products we've seen in that no other company has put forth an undertaking of this scale yet and people don't see much of the value in the individual figures, but the sum of their parts. No one's going to invest in one of these guys unless they plan on buying them all and that's a $600 commitment. I think that's the key here; no other 3rd party release has been as much a set as these guys are. Without getting into the relative complexity of these figures, people have agreed to $90 for FP Defender, $50 each for the scout sized Insecticons, or $50 each for the Bruticus upgrade figures. I don't think the TFC Constructicons are poorly priced, I just think it's a lot of sticker shock when people do the math into what six individually transforming combiner figures cost.

I don't collect official Transformers any more.

I want a Devastator with decent sized individual Constructicons as well as the combined form.

I can manage to get all 6 if they're released every 1-2 months.

    Justified

Damn you got your wife to OK it? What did you do? lol

But I'm hearing it. I thought I would be all over this but the $100 price tag put me off. I can't see why it is $20 more here than in Japan when product prices are generally the same from here and Japan.

I said it before and I will say it again, there is no way shipping 100 Exgravers cost $2000 to ship, and as I said before, I can ship a car overseas for less.

Also the $80 price from HLJ or RK includes the TFC price and there profit on the figure. These American sites (include Canada in there(which are actually slightly higher and our dollar is stronger argh) is just super capitalism at work.

I don't like the price at all and will wait for the eventual drop in price.

If this was an FP product totally different story, I have my Insecticons on preorder lol

I am buying two sets too. These will go up in price so the second set will cover my first set eventually and I will end up with a free Hercules. It will just take a year to do.

They made Targetoids figures but thats all I know. They were target masters guns.

If the only cost differences were in the shipping, I would probably agree with you, but you also have to account for differences in wages, rent, insurance, corporate taxes, etc, etc, for different countries. Considering that shipping from RK to the US for the single item puts it just under $100, the difference is even less. Factor in these other costs and it is probably pretty damn comparable.

Unless the finished product is 18" or more, I'm not interested.
