Do you cut both sides or just one?

My HL arrives later today. I think I should just fix him first thing. I'm going to go with filing down the inner portion behind the tooth until it's got some give to it.

So, the screws to the waist are covered? How do you get the plugs out without mangling the figure too much?

Just one. If you cut both, then you've destroyed the ratchet tab and it'll no longer offer any resistance. You'll just have a loose piece of plastic floating around in there.

I think he meant do you do this cut to one side of the ratchet tab to both legs? And I would assume you would do it to both legs.

So I chose to do the mod suggested by Axiom, and I think it is the best solution IMHO. Once I did that mod to those small pieces under the teeth, it seemed to solve the problem perfectly. I did haver some gears that were sheared, so I would like some replacement pieces. The only thing TFC needs to re-mold are those is those small grey pieces inside the groin section and replace the grey hip pieces along with the green covers for customers. This is a REALLY simple fix people. Give TFC time to get things taken care of.

If you have the black center piece separated, you need to pop ot the small green covers that cover the two screws in the groin area. Once you do that, you can get it apart w/ no problems. I do suggest shaving underneath the teeth on the small grey pieces versus actually cutting a piece ot of the sides if them. Tension in the ratchet joints should be just fine after this fix.

    Solomon Grundy wants pants too!

Joking aside... it kinda irks me that there's such a need for a QC fix thread. I don't have my figures yet as they're still in PoL... and I fret to have to deal with the squeaking issue.

TFC needs to work on their QC. It's to little benefit to them to have to keep mailing replacement pieces and/or include the fixes in the next Herc team item. Also I wouldn't be surprised if some folks have stopped preordering the rest of the set, and started reselling the 1-2 figures they do have.

Is this a universal problem, or just with select copies?

To avoid any more confusion on where G.I.Eddie cut, you could use this picture. I just "cut" them in MS Paint.:)

Cheers axiom and dkreed7! First post updated.
Wonder if the stores will automatically send to everyone who ordered, or if we have to e-mail them.

I've still got Heavy Labor waiting in an online store for Dr. Crank and Structor. I haven't had much of any issues with Exgraver, (granted, mine is from the second run and thus came with the fixed shovel arm right out of the box) but the 'squeak of doom' issue with Heavy Labor scares me. So, should I have the figure sent to me right away, or should I be safe enough waiting for the next two to come in and deal with the problem then?

If this isn't the right place for this, then I apologize.:)
