Educate me. Seeing as FP pretty much does second runs on everything, why don't they do this one again? They could add stuff to it or not include all the faces so it's different from the exclusive. I really want one of these but I will not pay $500 for such tiny pieces of plastic.

    Ebay:
The kit was done very early on before Fansproject had begun investing in strong molds, and I believe the mold for it no longer exists. They could always recreate the mold, but it's likely they have bigger and better plans for the future.

For the record, Fansproject has only done a second run on City Commander.

Another option is to get one of the Knockoff kits...I bought one and while it's probably not as good as the real thing it does the job. Onl problem I've had with it is the thin resin parts on the front bumper. Everything else works great for me.

That $500 one on eBay now is nuts. The highest one previously sold on eBay was $300-$350, and recently a kit went for about $150.

I remember looking at the ~$30 price tag FansProject sold them at and being appalled for what little you get.

Its funny, as a lot of people thought $30 was too much for the kits. But they actually sold them at a loss. If another group made a similiar kit now, it would cost at least $45 on the low end.

they should really revisit this concept again. im sure they still have the drawings and everything. the high demand is probably worth their time. i'd buy 2!

They said in an interview from last TFCon that they don't plan to make them anymore.

Since they work with steel molds now, the cost is not worth it for them, as at the most, they would have to make maybe 1000, and even then, the kits would cost more than $30 each. Plus, since you have to glue parts of the kit, I'm sure a lot of fans would complain about it.

When TFSource still had some of these, it seemed that noone was gonna shell out the $370 or whatever the price tag was. They did have 3 at one point and I noticed they slowly started to disappear. I had planned on getting one for myself for my birthday in September, but alas, they sold them all. I do have a knock off of the kit, but I wanted the official product. I suppose I can be happy with what I got though. Still looks better than a plain ol' Bumblebee repaint. :D

I feel like a broken record here, but some of us on the boards got these from Fansproject directly when these kits came out.

The FansProject website was in Chinese back then but I saw an email address link and I emailed them. They were really cool, asked me how many I wanted, and that they were $60 shipped. A couple weeks later we all had the kits directly from China.

While I too regret passing on this kit back when it was cheaper, the reason I did so is that I thought it looked pretty mediocre. And honestly, I still feel that way... I still don't like the broad nose, the squashed cranium, the droopy eyes, and the little nubby horns. It never really felt like Cliffjumper to me, it's missing something. Even the car parts can't help but look sort of tacked-on on the vehicle mode.

I think if, as someone mentioned, Classics CJ's were still plentiful, there would be room for another fan-company to take a better stab at it. But with them long gone from the shelves, I guess it's not really a priority for anyone.

Mind you, I'd still jump at it if I could get the original non-KO version for around $100 or under... even with its imperfections, it would still be nice to distinguish Cliffjumper from Bumblebee.

I'm still sad that rumored "Premium Version" Universe Cliffjumper never materialized from Hasbro. I would have loved to see him with a remolded head and a darker shade of red. Ah well.

Yeah I remember that. It's really a shame too. But Generations is up next swo who knows, we might see him released there.
