    Hey Guys,

Wondering what to make of this TFC #0 MISB Prime which seems to have had both of his Smokestacks fall off and are loose in the packaging. Was this a defect? If I open the packaging will they reattach fine to his body?

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

    Here are some pics:

Even if the smokestacks are broken, they're not hard to replace.

I'd be inclined to say an opened TFC Convoy with mint smokestacks is worth more than a sealed one with detached, possibly broken smokestacks.

I had something similar happen to one I had a few years ago. For no good reason the plastic bit that held one of the smokestacks in place broke off and that was that. I tried to fix it but it wasn't repairable.

Was it a TFC #0 Prime or an Original 80's Prime?

You know the funny thing is when I look at the smokestacks they have the little plastic nub and large plastic nub that would go into place. It looks as though they were designed to be removable. I guess I am curious to see if anyone with a TFC #0 Prime out of box can remove the stacks or not. Maybe for some US release reason (Since they can't have the long smokestacks). That way you could easily swap them.

I also read from another board that the early releases of this guy had some sort of Smokestack problem, but they never mentioned what it was. Any one know the history there?

Stacks are removable on the G2 repaint. Doubt the TFC version has any tooling differences in the shoulders /upper arms.

Ok I guess my next question will be does anyone know how to open the TFC #0 box so I can repair the figure and seal it up tight again? Any suggestions. I would like to keep it as MISB as possible.

Yeah, open the box. He'd still be MIB, and worth more if you fix his 'stacks, then sealed wit broken off 'stacks.

He never tried, too afraid of breaking it. I'll have to mess with it this week before I move.

Let me know what you find out.

I guess this really goes to show you that opening figures is the right way to go. Otherwise who knows what could be wrong with your MISB figures. One day you might open it up to find out its broken and then spend a really small fortune trying to replace it.

Also if I decide to open the box does anyone recommend a blow dryer to remove the stickers? I would like to keep the box in as minty a condition as possible because it is so pretty.

Also, does anyone have any instructions on how to repair the smokestacks?

Damn. I want you as a friend. :p

On topic, I am interested to see how this turns out. I have never seen this before(I don't actually own a TFC #0, though...I wish I did..). I also want to know if they re-attach.

    Yes!

This happened to mine too. I broke down sometime last year and decide to open mine and within a couple minutes one just fell off. I tried to get it back on to no avail and then just closed it back up and placed it back on the shelf and sulked.

I'm glad to see it didn't just break it, but sad to see there is a common QA problem. Hopefully that is fixed for the Encore release.
