I'm gonna go to a couple places Plowking I may be able to find it in WM or Target. Thanks so much, you just saved me some money bro. now I can take the one I bought back.
the epoxy I already bought works great. It was so easy to work with I have no idea why i was so afraid. I love molding stuff now lol I molded my first ever Faceplate. It looks really really good for a first attempt. at least...to me. I am officially addicted to playing with Epoxy.
hah! here's the updated photos of where I'm at now. I had to go out and buy a few more supplies so I can now finally start on the paints.
Thanks man. It's just too bad I suck so bad at painting. If worst comes to worst at least I got a cool head out of it lol Thanks Spit-Lip
Stop destroying animated ARCEE!! Don't you know that all the Canadian kitbashers are crying every morning because these aren't being released up here! Don't you have any heart? Have pity! Stop the torture! But seriously - nice work so far! I think the final product's going to look great! Can't wait to see it!
lol I'm sorry. but no worries I'm sure some US fans will hook up you fans up there. And thanks for the vote of confidence
Meh, the paint is really sticky, I won't be finishing this. But I'll at least show you how far I got before quitting. I plan on buying another Arcee and swapping the head with the new one. notice the thick apps. *sigh* this is why I hate painting, I just don't think I'll ever get it right
you will... it just takes time, practice and patience. if you decide to go with the brush only, try thinning out your paints. leave overnight or even 24 hours to dry. with thinned out paints, the paint won't start to dry as soon as you apply it, which is what is causing the heavy, almost mud like effect that you're probably experiencing after a few brush strokes. keep at it!
how do you thin your paint? do you mean deluding it with water or something? Sorry to sound dum. I just wish there was tutorials on video, I wish there was play-by-plays on how to do these things. I followed the tutorials here, but they only tell you so much.
I think your off to a great start man. We all have to start off somewhere & most times learn by doing. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have a new start to finish process on my YT channel. Maybe it can give you some tips & tricks.
Do not give up man. That fine custom head you made deserves a custom body. You can accomplish this. Just keep at it.
