Hey guys. Wanted to share some heads I've been working on, for the SickKids Charity project over on Cybertron.ca. We're making two sets of figures. Animated Protectobots, which will combine into Defensor, and a couple of other rescue themed G1 characters in animated style.

I'm helping out with making new heads for each custom. This is the first set. Nightbeat, which will use Jazz as the base. And First Aid, who will use Soundwave as the base. Nightbeat's horns come off, but it might be possible to leave them on when he transforms. The customiser working on him will have the choice for that. :)  Anyways, below are the prepped heads. They'll be painted by the respective customiser for each figure. My soundwave is missing his right thigh, thanks to my niece, so hes got a makeshift one. :lol

This is pretty much the only "update" on this, since I'm done with these heads on my end. I expect both customisers will share photos of the finished customs once their done.

Nice work, Venksta! I really like what you guys are doing with that charity work over there. Great work for a great cause, can't get any better than that. Looking forward to seeing how the customs look with these heads all painted up.

Beautiful work as always, mate! Not only do I love the designs - the Protectobots, and Hotspot in particular, are just brilliant - but both the Nightbeat and First Aid heads have come out fantastically well. Can't wait to see how the finished customs turn out, especially an Animated Defensor - finally, TFA'll have a proper combiner! :rock

Venksta, I was just by the cybertron.ca boards & read about the project. If you guys still haven't decided on Blades why not mod deluxe animated megatron from the 2 pack to be blades? Just an Idea I wanted to share with you. Still I like what you are doing and I will cheer on 100% of the way!! ^^

Thanks everyone for your comments. :)

Thanks dude. The heads were made in WD material. My first time using it. It still came out with some roughness. Spent a lot of time sanding them to get a nice and smooth surface. I also got the final parts for Skyfall in the WD. Already spent over 5 hours sanding his rifle. :\

Thanks! These heads are 3d printed, using my 3d model. But I still had to sand and primer them. :)

I'm thinking of doing Groove next actually. :)

Thanks dude. Chansformers is working on Blades. Hes already got a body for it, which will fit perfectly with the animated style. He made a separate thread on Cybertron's custom forum, showing it off.

    Nightbeat looks awesome!

...I really wish First Aids head was for the voyager Bulkhead mold ala Whitemochas digibash though!

Thanks again for the comments. :)

I'm going to have to take a look at Whitemocha's digibash now, sounds interesting. We are using Voyager Bulkhead for Inferno though. :)

That's the digibash I was referring to! :)

But now I'm confused. Bulkhead for Inferno...? But Inferno isn't a protectobot.

I understand why the Soundwave mold is being used though. For combiner/scale purpose.

Do you have a link to Chansformers Blades?

    I love his work!

Believe me, mate, the effort you've put into the heads certainly shows, and the fact that you've managed to retain all of the detail from the original models deserves kudos of the highest order. :thumb

And yeah, WD still has a small amount of surface texture, but nowhere near as much as WSF; I was really surprised at how rough my first Laserbeak testshot was in comparison to the WD Soundwave head I did. You adding anything else to the process, or just sticking to sand/prime/sand etc? :)

    Thats some cool stuff!

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised no one ever made a Blaster from the Soundwave mold. :lol

BTW what do you use for sculpting your heads?

Like I said when I first saw your designs on deviantArt, these are just flippin' amazing and even look better with the physical heads in place. Who needs Derrick Wyatt to design Animated versions of your favorite G1 characters when we've got you making perfect designs like these. I kinda wish you were casing these in addition to your other stuff so I could get them as well, but then I guess that would defeat some of the uniqueness and appeal of the auction project. Oh well. great work man.
