I got this set so I could get Prime and Megs and the DVD (noTV, hadn't seen the show yet.) I knew Megatron's alt mode was way off but I didn't know how bad til I saw the animation. The poor designer that did the cybertron mode Megs must've gotten a preliminary sketch to build from. I had a couple ideas to improve the figure and finally got an opportunity. I removed the silly pink 'battle damage' and touched up some paint. Then I got to the problems with the alt mode. It's not really great but a definite improvement. *edit* - added screen cap of alt mode. 5-28-2009 Thread Resurrection This is an attempt to show how this was accomplished, a tutorial if you will. Animated Deluxe Class Megatron (2 pack) Take the cannon, this is the only physical modifications done, the figure itself only had paint changes. here are my parts in the original configuration. I carefully cut the cockpit off the cannon and turned the beam cannon upside down to have the red vents on the bottom like in the show. I just unscrewed it and moved the post that attached it to his arm to the other side. (or I would have if I hadn't dropped it and lost it, butterfingers) It is now the red peg seen at the bottom. I then added pegs on the bottom of the cockpit unit and fins made from the energon blades. Now one post goes in the old peg hole on the cannon, fold the joint in the cannon and use the peg on the rear of the canopy section to attatch to Megatrons rump. Now you have a better rendition of the cybertron alternate mode for Deluxe Class Animated Megatron!! I hope this was fairly clear on what I did. Let me know if you need any points clarified.
