This was my entry for the Sector70.com Fembot Contest. She took third place. Glyph was an obscure G1 Bumblebee repaint who made a blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo in Transformers Animated. This is my take on her if she had ever acquired an Earth Mode. As such, she is made out of a TFA Deluxe Bumblebee. The paints are a little rushed in places, because I was rushing to get her done before the deadline. I'll go back and clean her up at some point. Here's what I did- I sculpted a new face for her including glasses made from package window plastic. I started with the original back of the head and built up the new face with layers of epoxy putty. My preferred putty for little details is called Quikwood. It's a wood repair putty. I like it because it's easy to sculpt, and once it's set, it carves nicely- which is how I get my nice clean lines and corners. She has had the police light removed from her car roof. They way I did that was to saw the light off. This left a hole, so I put a piece of flat styrene under the hole and then filled it in with putty. When it was good and set, I sanded it even. The stingers were removed from her arms (partly to make room for her new head) and styrene plates were put over the holes. Her chest is carved down and rounded. Her new, smaller feet swing around on their original hinges, but I cut the bulk of them off, so that the car headlights and grill remain in place and only the new bumper swings out to make the now much daintier feet. I made the new feet/ bumper by layering up styrene bits and them smoothing them over with epoxy putty. My original idea was to paint them like black mary janes. I still might do that. I hope you like her as much as I do.
