At this point, I'm actually worried that it's not expensive enough... $20 more than Bumblebee doesn't seem to be enough to cover the increase in both size and engineering complexity. I hope I'm wrong, but I would have felt much better if it were $120-$150...

If they're keeping the figures in scale with each other, Prime is going to be nearly twice as tall as Bee. (For the love of Primus, don't let it be a repaint...)

If they're going for scale in addition to accuracy, then he'd have to be slightly taller than the ROTF leader class. It sounds implausible, but ya never know.

They've certainly set the expectations pretty high with the Bumblebee reveal. Either they've got a great product on their hands and they're confident we'll be happy, or they unknowingly shot themselves in the foot. Guess we'll see.

Why was there ever any question about his size?

I think this shot from the video really shows bumblebee's size, looking at him compared to that phone, he'll likely be around the height of a carbot:

    IMG_2082.PNG

Also, keep in mind that hasbro likes to price carbots at import prices rather than the 40-50 USD they actually cost in Japan, while larger figures are generally the same price if not cheaper

MP-10 hasbro version: $99.99-$109.99 at release

MP soundwave w/ all 5 cassettes - $99.99 at release

MP Acid Storm - $89.99 at release

    MP Starscream $79.99 at release

MP Prowl - $79.99 at release

    MP Bluestreak $79.99-$89.99 at release

MP Bumblebee - $69.99 at release

Given that trend, it's not hard to imagine a 2007 movie Optimus thats in scale with this bumblebee at $99.99, especially considering the absence of a trailer.

Good point. Prime may be the correct scale after all

Wow, Bee was $70 in the US? Anyways, another question this raises now is if the Hasbro releases will be different from the Takara releases in terms of paint apps, etc...

So it would probably be more cost effective to order this from Japan instead of waiting for the American one?

From an American etailer, it'll likely be about the same, but if your order from the likes of hobbylink Japan and Amazon.jp, then yeah, it's generally cheaper to get the Japanese release.

Is that a chassis on your back?

Or are you just happy to see me.

A windsheild and chassis are actually about as opposite as can be when it comes to cars.

I know it's generally cheaper but what's the Japanese MSRP compared to the supposed $80 American release

Did I miss something? Is that not a chassis and wheels just stuck on Prime's back? In the most egregious case of back kibble ever?

Lack of specificity on my part. That bee looks good though.

This right here is why I'm not fully convinced Optimus is one of the three MPMs. The expensive one doesn't seem expensive enough. The only supporting evidence we have is the "Jupiter" codename, right?

    What if it's a proper triple-changer Drift?

    What if it's Hound?

I've been thinking the same. I'm worried Prime will only be slightly taller than Bee and not in scale at all (or it will be a nice repaint of an existing toy). I really doubt a brand new nicely done scale mold would only cost $20 more. It's concerning.

It was confirmed on the front page today that Optimus is one of the movie masterpieces, because the listing for the TLK voyager Optimus retained the Jupiter code word in the title for some reason. So, extrapolating, Jupiter is Optimus Prime

Really hoping/thinking that MP Saturn is Barricade.

Always kind of regretted not getting his HA, since I had been pleased with the deluxe, but this could be really dope if they do it right.
