C'mon MPM-3 box art!
Oooooo yeah, that's gonna look good standing next to the over size KO Evasion Prime.
I like the Shadow Spark Optimus a lot and don't have the mold, but not for $70. Ideally the new voyager mold will get a "dark" or evil repaint, and I'll get that.
The new paint on the Optimus looks good, but are we not expecting a new mold for this movie?
Yeah I wondered about the heels too. Also, it's a shame they didn't find a way to put the rear lights on his back, under the wings, instead of the lower legs.
I got to stop reading this at the office, I was grinning like an idiot reading all this, it was great. Its like i can hear Louis Black reading your quotes, its awesome.
Ok, so about your comment on terrible value per dollar we do have some contenders, no? How about that YOTM Primal who was like over $100 at first? Or YOTG Prime? Or the insecticons at KMart which cost even more than this Optimus toy?
Yes, but that new mold is only a voyager. This optimus is the only confirmed or even rumoured leader so far.
Yes Hasbro usually has something mistransformed, but all points indicate to this being photos from Takara and this being a Takara toy. And they dont mistransform their toys as much. Remember, MP Dirge was also shown first at a toy show in Hong Kong by hasbro asia, this seems to be the same thing.
I can see your point. But that assumes that the higher price point for other MPs are valid in the first place, which isnt always the case. Look at Starscream. The latest seekers sell for around $150-180 MSRP and yet the MSRP for the latest release of the seeker mold frm hasbro was only like $60-$70, half the original MP price tag (or around that). Its proof that these toys dont need to be priced that high. Also, Ironhide's price at most retail outlets in Japan was $70, not $90.
And in any case, the HA line was at the $30 price point and Movie Leader Starscream was $40. Inflation didnt go that crazy. Adding more parts doesnt automatically mean doubling the price. You can vote with your wallet. If you find it priced too much (as I do) then dont buy it and dont legitimize the price. It worked in the past. MP Skywarp was $200 2 years ago and the recent rerelease was $20 less.
If they do a proper MPM Optimus Prime, then they better have forearm mounted blades.
Well, it might not be "authentic", but the price, size, detail and quality are factors. Currently, I don't think there is anything official that can beat it. In robot mode, for me, I get a really nice looking, film style optimus, which is far better looking than any other official optimus I own.
From the pics here, it looks like Bumblebee has his hand cannon via swappable hands. So if a MMP Optimus is made, I'd expect the blades to be plug on accessories.
yeah fair enough.
Horrible HASBRO, TAKARA 79.99 small without accessories.
JIANG WEI M01 metal m01 oversized 70,00 on ebay.
Please WEI JIANG oversized bumblebee diecast shows for hasbro, takara.
How to make transformers.
Please wei jiang make oversized bumblebee.
Since this will be Masterpiece, it should come with cool accessories - I expect a removable oil filter - preferably spring loaded.
Meh. I vastly prefer my Hasbro DOTM Leader class Jetwing Optimus Prime figure over that knockoff, especially since I personally upgraded its paint job to be far more screen accurate and because it actually has the exact truck mode that the eventual Movie Prime figure whose design is the most evocative of the Live Action Film Series incarnation will have.
P.S. Die cast is the Past! Plastic is Fantastic! Die cast is the Past! Plastic is Fantastic!
I just noticed something Bee doesn't have: his shoulder cannons. I don't mind their exclusion (especially at the risk of losing something else, like sacrificing some part of the transformation), but I wonder if they'll be included as side accessories, like I assume his cannon is.
^ Include Human Alliance Simmons and MP Inferno's water effect part so Bee can simulate peeing on him like in the first film.
Looks better with every picture. I'm confident the smaller wings can rotate to be movie accurate and I also think the door wings will be able to rotate up a la MP prowl.
The single heel spur is kinda puzzling but not a deal breaker.
He looks to be human alliance sized which makes his vehicle mode too big to interact with the G1 masterpieces, which is kind of a shame.
I tried reading this sentence three times, but I still can't follow what you're saying.
They said it should be in the "MP10 scale." I'm assuming it will scale with other carbots.
"比例根據系列內 MP10 及之後系列為依歸,與其他同系角色可以有更好的配合效果"
I would guess so, but nothing's official yet.
Honestly I'd be satisfied if Hasbro released the Armor Knight retool of the AOE leader mold, but if they didn't already do it on this Shadow Spark toy (seriously, he still has the Knight armor in the new movie and there's already a retooled mold for it...wtf), my hopes are low.
