TF4, as in a continuation of what we currently have and not a reboot?

    Michael Bay.

    InB4IwantJamesCameronandChrisNolantodirectTF4together!!!

If Michael Bay REALLY doesn't want to do it, I'd like someone who isn't really that A-list and who most wouldn't immediately go for, perhaps David Slade once he's done with the Daredevil reboot and if he's interested(before you say it, I KNOW he directed Eclipse, but he also made 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy, both of which were awesome, so two out of three ain't bad).

I'd go with Holylord Notanotherthread. Sure his work is repetitive, but he's consistent.

This all the way!! :rock  Spielberg FTW!!!

I wouldn't mind seeing what he could do also. The creator of Star Wars working on making the sci-fi wonders of Transformers... It could definitely work!

Put those two directors together and we'd have another classic like Indiana Jones :D

Aside from those two directors, I would also love for Christopher Nolan to work on the film. His visionary work is absolutely AMAZING. He would create another perspective and concept never considered to the franchise of Transformers. I'm afraid however there wouldn't be as much action, but I'd be worth it due to the incredibly developed plot.

If I could pick any living director I'm going to say Peter Jackson. He's good with fans. He's passionate about source material. He's good about taking input from the production team instead of saying I'm god and all my ideas are better than yours. He's shown he's good at filming larger than life creatures. He can juggle several characters in a story so that it's not just the character with the most lines that seems to get all the love and attention.

But then I'm also a sucker for new directors or directors who doing something out of their normal range. I knew nothing at all about Neill Blomkamp going into District 9 and he really impressed with being a bit different than the Hollywood machine. Jon M. Chu is known as a dance director but so far he's impressed me enough to think he could be the guy to make something good out of the GI Joe live action films.

As to who they would actually hire and how much freedom they would give that director, it's a tricky question I don't have an answer for because the list of potential directors is just too long and we don't have inside information about any potential negotiations.

Lucas would never do it obviously, as he works on his own stuff. One things for sure, though, he would definitely make the robots the main characters.

Spielberg would make toasters and televisions the main characters.
